Needed some shelves for the basement mainly to store home canned stuff. Maybe went a bit overboard with the size and sturdiness, but it's what I had on hand and I kinda like the result. Thoughts? Advice?

I would not trust those little brackets to hold the weight of the jars... Think about how heavy those suckers will be if loaded up with canned goods. You need to add 2x4 braces under the shelves so they support the boards. Either notch the 4x4 post with a dado to insert the board into the 4x4 for maximum strength, or if you want to do it an easier way, insert blocking between the 2x4 braces so each level rests on the blocking and transfers all the weight all the way to the ground. In pic rel I quickly and shittily drew some braces in MS paint in red, and the blocking in blue so you can get the general idea.

Relying on some shitty screws in a shearing application is a really bad way to build something meant to hold a lot of weight. Ideally you would have it fit solid with joinery or blocking The tier list for building would look something like this.Tip Top tier: Dadoed 4x4 leg with solid fitting 2x4 cross braces screwed and gluedTop tier: 2x4 leg with cross braces screwed and blocked in between every shelf to essentially end up with a laminated 4x4 beam without actually having to dado. Mid tier: screwing or bolting 2x4 cross braces to your 4x4 legs (bolting would be a better option for this application because they could withstand more shear force than some shitty screws)Bottom tier: Some brackets screwed into the 4x4.
