tbdesu, I know jack shit about shelving but want to make this 48U rack (two of it) to fit this template I made using Racula.
This is what I have so far. I have Homedepot nearby and want to DIY this for months now.
Also my two transformers are 170lbs each and the variac on the left side is 100lbs by itself. Everything above that is standard tower PC laid sideways to save space.The two plasma globes are just show pieces..I am hoping I can add a nice acrylic wall to the sides and the front (like a door). I know this part is ambitious. I have wooden flooring so a decent load bearing rubber standoffs I guess?
Also both my transformers are W24xH26xD20

I'd love to add rails to it but have to read up on how to balance the load given my first rack will be at least 26 inches from the rubber standoffs. Looks like I might have to just stick it and go for a homedepot steel shelving units.

I'm not kidding - we had tons of old rails and even a small rolling server rack that got thrown away and I could think of three other companies in the same building, that were the same way. You promise to haul that shit away and you could easily score some 6ft racks and shelving.
