Finally tuned my 7 inch so went to the riverside to do a return to home test among other things. Had shit reception on my homemade directional antenna that I settled up with an omnidirectional in diversity. Long story short I accidentally pressed the disarm button while on the water. Signal was crap seeing pure snow at 700 mts so I stranded up to better control the directional beam. Was in a shift position with 2x batteries in the arm side of my tracksuit I blame that more than anything. AllWays fly in a comfortable position at least one that you are used too. This shot is too expensive for my poor fag thirties ass
What do the balance connectors on the battery packs actually do?

BUT, some electronics may cost you the entire thing if they fail.>>3008811doing a recap and after some research the bad reception issues surely were because those cheap chinese vtx that are rated for 2 + W without cooling they actually fry themselves fairly quickly. they are great at first but they are designed for few uses against slavs not really durable rest of the craft was good. and ultimately i lost it by pure user error since i had RTH usable. but the user error was caused by the dying vtx in the end
longtime planefag here since I was a kid, I can dig what the multi guys are doing but I don't understand why nobody under boomer age is into planes. So much more craftsmanship and variety vs. making an X and brute forcing it into the sky, no? Do any of you guys like to build fixed wings?

How easy is it to damage ESCs during soldering? I was always taught to not let transistors get too hot but there doesn't seem to be a way to avoid it with the way the boards are designed.
