My house has ZERO exterior outlets. I would like to add a few. I can find videos about piggy backing a new one onto a existing interior outlet. I do not want that. I want a new dedicated circuit. I have limited experience with electrical work. Replaced outlets and light switches. Even replace a breaker. So I don't feel like hiring someone when I could just learn, so fuck off with the "just hire someone" this is DIY. I'm here to DO IT MYSELF and LEARN.I want a circuit I can run a 120v welder from, maybe sometime later I can install a 240 line but for now I have other uses too. 10/2 romex with a 20AMP breaker? I will be running it through a crawl space so I shouldn't need any kind of conduit. I suppose the only part I'm really not sure about is getting the wire from my crawl space to the breaker panel somehow?
Why are you derating a 20a circuit to 10 gauge? is it really long or something? You're buying yourself a volt or two at the full 20a load.How you run the wire depends on were the panel is. I take it it's in an interior wall which means you have a shot of fishing it up the wall cavity with a fish rod/tape. If there's any blocking in the wall or if the wall is insulated then you're ripping out drywall.If you do rip out drywall run a 2"-3" conduit from the bottom of the box to the crawlspace so you can pull new circuits without destroying the wall again.
