I swear the fuck to god I found a tap holding a desk together. "Oh, I put a bolt in that"... son of a bitch I haven't seen that tap for a year. How did... "I put it in the drill and drilled it in", Oh.Ok.

You "weather sealed the door for the winter". How? Why is the Spray Foam in the trash? Didn't I have a box of 3" deck screws? I thought my drill batteries were charged... oh. Shit. Jesus fucking Christ.

Yes thank god you found a small pry bar/precision brass screwdriver for jewelry that FUCKING COST ABOUT...
Never mind. Just never mind.

YOU USED/FUCKED MY SHIT RAGE THREAD.
>>
Got a cousin who fancies himself "a tuner". He comes by my shop, borrowed one of my DeWalt cordless drills and wrought some sort of fuckery upon his Kia. Then proceeded to leave the fucking drill on the engine, and close the hood and drive off.
Raging conflagration ensues, so goober drives back to my shop, flames spurting from the hood and tries to drive INTO the shop bay.
I stop him, manage to get the fire out with a bunch of dry chem extinguishers, and after the hood is opened I see the remains of my drill.
He then wants ME to pay for the damage to his shitbox, because it was my drill.
Me and his dad (uncle) had a chat. Dumbfuck is riding a bus or a bike for the immediate future, and uncle bought me a new drill.
>>
>>3009545
RIP your drill man, sorry.
Li fires are no fuckin joke and they're in everything now.
The best way to stop a "tuner" is to ask "well what sort of horsepower do you have now? Do you have a PLAN for the increased cornering wear from all your BIG COCK horsepower? You gonna do anything about the brakes, or just die?". Because they have nothing, no plan, no measuring anything, now reading any documentation.
As soon as that's in play they're done.Maybe he can make you a new drill on his fag printer.
>>
>>3009594
That's the thing, the drill just melted all to fuck, but the battery never caught fire.
What caught fire was his shitty unfused subwoofer wiring that he'd run through the hole he'd shot in the firewall with said drill.
>>
>>3009595
What do you want to bet if he'd looked for 5 fucking seconds, he could have reasoned:
other things go through firewall
Firewall has holes with plastic plugs just for this
sometimes you can come right up through the floor

Holy shit. Drill the firewall. Any chance he used a slow setting bimetal or carbide bit, maybe a little cutting lube, any framing or bracing said hole... fuck.

This is $125 at walshart.
I bet he has never seen one or has any idea why this exists (his retarded idea for one).
>>
>>3009596
If I can find the pics of the carnage I'll post them, but this was a while ago.
Anyhow, the cables (best way to describe the wiring) were like a 4 or 6 gauge coated in some transparent blue shit.
He used a good bit, but it was one of my left hand twist bits, then he used the pointed end of my large alignment bar and wallowed the hole til the cables would go through.
It looked like a rodent had chewed a hole through the firewall.
The cabling ran along the passenger side of the center console to a pair of huge caps. Like the size of start caps, that were mounted with wire ties to a chunk of masonite.
Anyhow, his shit ran straight from the battery, across the engine, through the wallowed to fuck hole in the firewall, and that is where it shorted.
The cables set fire to the plastic shit underhood, melted my drill (or the engine cooked it, regardless) and sent that shitbox to the junkyard.
He kept saying "Ima gunna fix it", and I was saying "Yeah, the scrapyard will fix it properly. In the crusher".
>>
>>3009599
Hey I know a guy about a mile away with a beautiful Aston Martin Oak Edition (growing through the engine bay, now owning part of the engine). It's not for sale, he's gonna fix it up for real money some day.
>>
>>3009543
This is why you don't let people borrow/use your tools. Slap the shit out of them and tell them to never touch your stuff ever again.
>>
>>3009695
"But honey, Ed just NEEDS to BORROW this or his car/job/life is over! Can't you be a cool guy about this?"

Machine shop coworkers grabbing electronics lab tools and destroying them
>Bent precision pliers
>Dented copper side cutters by cutting steel wire

Managed to stop one that was about to use Wiha picofinish screwdrivers to hammer out alignement pins on a die

"No."
>>
>>3009705
Like I would consider dating some midwit that would have anything to do with people like that. When I was young and stupid I dated a few women based solely on looks. It did not go well. Being a certain kind of attractive allows you get away with being a useless piece of shit. Don't fall for that trap.

In this case Ed is the fat old retard next door who bought harbor freight general replacement wheels for his zero turn and one stripped out, slammed into the pan, and got sucked up into the blade.
Ed's, like, a fuckin genius eh?
"HE'S NIIIIIIIIIIIICE TO USSSSSSSSS!"
ok
>>
>>3009890
I've dealt with an "ed" who ran over the wire cable dog lead in his yard with the belly mower on a J-D 1025.
He wanted me to "straighten the blades" instead of replacing them, and "just shoot some grease in that howling spindle" instead of replacing it.
The only way it could have been more absurd and retarded is if his dog was still attached to the end of the lead when he sucked it into the diesel powered green cuisinart.
>>
>>3009595
>the battery never caught fire
wtf? I use a burnbuster Lithium-Ion Fire Extinguishing Gel 14oz can hanging up on the wall in my shop (i have a computer repair shop). I hope i never have to use it, but I don't see how something like that could be flammable otherwise. Unless maybe, it's made out of that crappy PVC that plumbers use

Your cousin sounds like he needs a handler.
>>
>>3009902
More like a wrangler.
The kid is a bit of a 'tard.

Oh, the stories I could tell, but they're not DIY related.
>>
>>3009895
>diesel powered green cuisinart
Our Ed has a gas powered circular saw from idk the korean war maybe. If you take it toally apart and service it nice, it's a fucking dream to cut with, and it doesn't even splinter today's fucking GODDAMN PARTICLE GLUED FUCKING BULLSHIT GODDAMN CHINKWOOD FUCKING... well you get the idea. I think that's the only reason I like him.
>>
>>3009985
I want the stories
>>
>>3009985
I also want stories about your tarded cousin.
>>

My little brother is a pothead and when I lived with my family he used to constantly steal my good screwdrivers and use them to clean out bongs or something. He's also a musician and ruined multiple sets of cutters on guitar strings, or they would wind up inside his guitar bags. I eventually had to start keeping all that stuff in a locked toolbox in the garage.

Working on the house wiring and checking outlets, walk past his room which is on a far end. Notice an unusual stink (other than the usual filthy room and BO smell)

So, I stop and tell him to clean his shit up or I'm jacking the rent.

Watch as he waddles over and looks under his bed before pulling a half-mummified, half eaten largeish bird from under the bed.
Think crow sized.
One of his cats had taken this prize past his corpulent ass and under his bed, half eaten this thing and then left the rest to ripen under the bed, long enough for the stink to overwhelm the "normal" funk oozing from his goblin-den.

Machinists live in a different reality I swear to god. I did network installs during/post covid for machine shops and other manufacturing facilities that needed to install/upgrade stuff because they needed to automate shit during lockdowns when they could only have a couple of people in the shop instead of the usual 50+. I've seen them cut into sealed working areas on multiple occasions to get access to something they didn't need or to take a shortcut because they were too lazy to walk around.

>Dumbfuck doesn't have a set of gauge blocks he needs to line something up
>Does he grab one of the 6 sets at any of the other work tables?
>No of course not.
>He walks up to the sealed room
>Looks at the sign posted on it reiterating the stuff he was told in the meeting 6 hours earlier, aka do not enter without escort of (my company name)
>Walks back to his workstation
>Grabs a flathead screw driver
>Walks back
>Cuts a gash into the sheeting
>All of this was on camera
Cost his boss a nice 35k between having to order new equipment, and us having to completely fuck up our schedule for the rest of the week once replacement equipment came in.
>>
>>3011237
I worked as a machinist (Manual and CNC programmer/op)

You are not wrong.

One co-worker would waste hours resharpening cheap, common Cobalt or HSS drill bits (Think smaller than 1/4"), instead of just going to the cabinet, and grabbing a fresh one.
>>
>>3009545
>wants ME to pay for the damage to his shitbox, because it was my drill.
How do people like this exist? Like how is it possible?
