so the cocksuckers DID at one time make a XL Twin normal air mattress.Anyone got any bright ideas for how to make a good XL out of a regular twin?I guess I could get a 8"x10"x39" block of foam and maybe Velcro and upside down fitted elastic bedsheet and another one rightside up over it.And WTF does no one make XL Twin air-mattress?Its for a DIY fold up bed for my beater van. It will be along the driver's side wall. It will be barely high enough to fit 3.5 gal buckets under when folded down. Platform will hinge on door hinges with removable pins, and there will be another rail and butt-hinge halves mounted at 29" so it could serve as desk/work bench or "Captain's Bed" with lots of under bed storage.I've done that before but without the second level option, but the removable door hinge pins worked great. Could fold up the bed out of the way and haul a motorcycle, fridge, etc and the mattress and bedding would be "positive aired".For legs I used PVC pipe which would rotate flush and a more or less full length PVC pipe sat in the groove of the van floor.Haven't worked out the details but I think it will be OK to have two sets of legs, one about 13" and another at 29".I like my mini-RV and bug-out buggy to be able to be hosed out for easy 100% hygiene.Thots or suggestions?https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Leaktite-3-5-Gallon-Translucent-Gray-Paint-Bucket
>>3009638For a van? Go to a carpet store get an offcut for a buck. Hard floor is the best mattress there is. Carpet is second but it keeps you warmer.Don't use sheet wood for beds either, the glue fucks your throat unless you seal it properly.
You VILL but the regular twink bed und you VILL be happy
>>3009703I'm not sleeping ON the wood, but on mattress, sheets, etc.I'll spray with poly clear seal to wipe clean with damp rag or even hose.

>>3009638Have you thought about one of those premade trifold foam mattresses? They seem to come in Twin XL. I used to have one that guests used and said it was fine.
