how to re-roof this? off scaffold? Lean tall ladder? Zoom-boom? Manlift with over hang?Seems like ladder would be too much up and down due how shingles stack.Even manlift with overhang would be too much in and out and would end up sinking into the lawn and slicking out.Seems bit steep for those roof jacks and planks.comments on rest of the house and deal?how much would how cut up it is increase price of metal roof and could that be a DIY?Here is listing.https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/810-Eastgate-Blvd-Miami-OK-74354/86087997_zpid/?mmlb=g,3
>>3009889Lay down some plywood boards, possibly stacked on top of another and build out a scaffold if you’re worried about the lawn. Either that or ladder. Ladder will take a while but probably not that much longer than building and moving a scaffold honestly. It will be more tiresome though to do ladder
>>3009905scaffold has a catwalk, so you cover wider range with one positioninguse ladder and you will spend more time moving it and going up and down on it than actually doing workalso, safety
whitey can't climb?
I did mine, twice as high house though, with rock climbing gear. Replaced tiles with metal. Was not fast, adjusting the rope was a good chunk of the time spent.
>>3009905https://www.badgerladder.com/clearance/This shit on casters and the casters roll on two wooden "roads" made out of 3 2x4s nailed into a "U" shape, with overlapping.Definitely seems a bit problematic, and cut up, so DIY metal probably out.
>>3009889A professional roofer would just use roof jacks and be required to rope up to hooks for fall protection.A homeowner or a handyman could get it done with just a ladder, you could even hire some labor to make it go faster. It won't be near as efficient as a roofing crew. I wouldn't ass around with a lift or scaffolding. Scaffolding won't reach the top of the ridge, and I feel like you'd get more value hiring three wetbacks then lift for a day.

Google Sat Map shows big white/silver tarp on back side that SHOULD be visible from pic in front, but isn't.Maybe they took it down via skylight access for the Listing Pics. Typical.Lower front overhang makes scaffold a non-starter. Zero pics of entire back side of anything, but looks like "stuff".Garage too steep to do without jacks.Interior of garage has column of two 4x4 posts stacked and scabbed with two little pieces of plywood. Also odd black spots, and odd brown discoloration above doors.Region hit with massive flood summer of 2026 and this is in flood plain.Been on sale for nearly a near, 25% reduction in asking.Obviously at least a big part of the failure to sell is poor quality of the of the Listing.A decent listing might be "Have bid from respected local roofer for new roof. Have records of last Septic service and inspection", as well as precise elevation and Flood Plain situation.Anyone ever built "personal" individual home defense levees around houses? I'm thinking even a 2-3' high levee would work but also be PIA to have to drive over to get to garage, or even walk over, so maybe a non-automatic "gate" that would be a metal rim structure that would except about three 2x12" planks and lock them down snug. The planks would be inserted nice and dry, then expand to seal like a barrel. Maybe make them T&G. Dig deep gold fish pond at lowest point inside levee to collect seepage and pump out back over levee.Last sold in 2000 for $100k and now asking $150K and clearly no maintenance has been done in 6+yrs....or for a long time prior to 2000.
