Just about finished this, made from a hornbeam sapling (Carpinus betulus). Rigid handle, about 50 lbs at 31", d-shaped longbow. 200 cm long. Might pike it later to 180 cm to get it to 75 lbs. Worked on it exclusively using regular knives, which was a bit of a pain in the ass as hornbeam is notoriously tough, but worth it.Will soon apply shellac and wrap the handle.
is it laminated, steam bent? what kind of bow?
>>3010137None of these. I had to bend the tips with a heat gun a bit for string alignment- now itโs about centershot while shooting off hand while it was like 5 cm from the center of the handle at first due to lateral curves. Itโs a self bow, as I said a d-shaped longbow but with a rigid handle.
>>3010107I can't use a bow without an arrow rest. How do you do it OP?
