I have a significant mouse invasion problem, and I've found that the most effective mouse traps appear to be water buckets with special lids (pic related is the "Flip 'n slide" by Rinnetraps, which apparently works really well. I've purchased one. I can't seem to find any information on what could be added to the water to speed up drowning/death of the mice. All AI chatbots act like stuck up little bitches complaining about muh "humane" and "animal cruelty". Nigger, there are mice pooping all over the place and nibbling holes in the door! I want them gone. Is there some miracle substances that can reliably speed up their death without obviously being super toxic?
>>3010110Install funnel in bottom of bucket that directs the mouse to a paper shredder and then the ground meat can plop out on the ground and feed your chickens.
Or, could a person make grid of wires and a grounding plate on the bottom of the bucket and electrocute the mouse to death upon it entering the bucket? I dunno man, just use the water and let them suffer a bit before they die. Maybe adding some soap as a surfactant would speed up the drowning process a tad?
>>3010112How would an electrocution plate work for more than one mouse? One of the main advantages of mouse traps like this is their ability to catch multiple mice overnight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHwvVPT202Y
>>3010111lol, ok interesting.
>>3010110Realistically they'll drown nearly immediately anyway if they're mice and the water is sufficiently deep. I actually don't know if mice can even hold their breath voluntarily.
>>3010116Apparently they get tired in the water as well as become hypothermic, but it's not super quick, hence why many countries ban this type of trap. I don't want to deal with a situation where the mice are stuck in the bucket for several days without dying.
>>3010117>Several daysMake it deep enough and they'll drown before the morning when you should be checking it anyways.
>>3010110Put MouseX pellets in the bucket instead of water and let them eat.
>>3010120Drives the cost up and can cause you to poison other farm animals.
>>3010121It's just corn meal and salt to make them dehydrate, and it would be contained in the bucket. There are plenty of ways to kill mice though. Go full Rube Goldberg and post your best rodent-genociding contraptions.
>>3010122>just corn meal and salt to make them dehydrateSo it's shit that doesn't work that is sold to housewives and businesses to make them feel good.
>>3010123Maybe. Have you thought about gassing them with carbon monoxide?
>>3010124Amazing idea. brb gonna try it right now.
>>3010117>many countries ban this type of trapdont post it on tiktok then retardos
Put a snake or cat in the bucket
Realistically how fast do they shit up your house once they invade? We recently started noticing them around at night inside and within 48 hours of first sight, it's like a mouse shit apocalypse. I found it fucking everywhere. Disgusted me so hard I just wanted them dead and done with so I bought first strike soft bait. The day it arrived I put out several bags and the following morning multiple were missing, gone. Haven't seen a mouse since. I'm praying that's the end of it and I won't find anymore mouse shit around my home. I've been looking and not finding any after my initial cleaning when we first noticed them in the house so praying I wiped them out. It makes me sick to think of them crawling around on my kids while they sleep since I found shit within a foot of my kids bed. Or if they start chewing on things like computer cables, bedding whatever. Fucking pisses me off.
What about german roaches? I can hear them inside my walls.
>>3010179Yes, similar experience here. I'm definitely wary of any kind of poison due to health concerns, and I don't think I can source them in Europe. The only other solution I can think of is a device to actively cool the water in the bucket. That will kill the mice more rapidly. Dunno how this could be done affordably, though. One thing I will test once I get my trap up and running is to put a bunch of ice cubes in the water, try to insulate the bucket and see how much temperature is lost overnight. ChatGPT says if you insulate your bucket properly this can actually keep the water cool for a very long time. These are the calculations it gives for a bucket encased in 15cm of expanded polystyrene on the bottom and sides with 5l of water and 500g of ice cubes added to the water at 5°C, in a garage with an ambient temperature of ~18°C:1 hour: ~0°C2 hours: ~0°C4 hours: ~2°C8 hours: ~6°C12 hours: ~9–10°C
>>3010110Fill the bucket with acid, it should turn all the mice into soup. Add some bait if you can in order to lure the mice, I heard that peanut butter work really well.
>>3010110Not another one of these retarded fucking threads. You will NEVER be able to kill mice as fast as they can multiply and/or just get in.Secure your fucking house. Mortar, steel wool, expanding foam, Go around and any hole you can fit a pencil in, fill it up.Never worry about vermin ever again. The hard truth is if you kept your place clean they wouldn't come in at all btw.You can put as many drowning buckets around as you like, they don't just transport into them, they are still shitting and pissing all over your house on their way to die.
>>3010182OK now account for the energy of the hot blooded mice you intend to add to it you retarded ai slop moron.
>>3010237Yea, no shit. The answer is probably not a whole lot. The AI tends to shut down when it thinks I want to kill animals, so I have to ask questions indirectly. >>3010236Not really applicable. The mice come in through the gaps under the electric garage door. There is a sliding door leading from the garage to the house. The way this is designed leaves a small gap on one side that cannot be filled. Doing so would simply block the door.>You will NEVER be able to kill mice as fast as they can multiply and/or just get in.Ok, challenge accepted.Do strip brushes work against mice? I would assume they can simply squeeze through them pretty easily.
>>3010110Oil
>>3010110> significant mouse invasion problemYou have a significant hanta virus problem, which will lead to a significant death problem.
>>3010369
>>3010351Hantavirus is mostly a meme. I'd be more worried about toxoplasmosis.
>>3010265>The mice come in through the gaps under the electric garage door. There is a sliding door leading from the garage to the house. The way this is designed leaves a small gap on one side that cannot be filledMake each gap small enough to stop entry.A garage door can be sealed by fixing the meeting faces to be flat. Raise and smoothe the floor to meet the door. Get a rubber strip threshold to cosethe gap if necessary.A sliding door should be hung to minimise the leaf gap, build up the wall behind if required, add a closing strip on the rear edge of the door which meets the frame perpendicular to the door opening. It's not hard you just have to use your brain.A drowning mouse will melt an ice cube in about 2 hours.
>>3010110Put water in the bucket, taller than any mouse could possibly stand, and then also add two or three inches of mineral oil or kerosene on top of the water. Mice that fall in the bucket might float in the water, but they'll sink in the other liquid, so even if they swim well they won't be breathing any air from the moment they fall in.
>>3010402> toxoplasmosisI am worried about that. But I thought thought that was from cats.Never lived with a cat, and avoided them my whole life. As far as I know, I don’t have it.Also, cats can solve the mouse problem :-)
>>3010180guns
Just use a normal mouse trap you sick fucksOr get a cat or two
>>3010415>I am worried about that. >But I thought thought that was from cats. Maybe you are a clueless tard
>>3010402>>3010415The only people that have to worry about toxoplasmosis are faggots with AIDS. Checks out.
>>3010110you could put some nice bedding in the bottom and some food for themand when it fills up, you take them out one by one and kill them like a real man
>>3010449>you could put some nice bedding in the bottom and some food for them>and when it fills up, you take them out one by one for a nice romantic dinner and then fuck them to death like a real man
>>3010449How would you suggest I go about that? I killed one like this with a trowel last week after it got caught in a live trap.
>>3010110Instead of water, use acid, the melty kind or the trippy kind, choice is yours.
As guy above said, you should seal up your place. Having been thru all of it, as far as killing them here's what actually works best:Bucket trap with just a lil bit of food and water in it, maybe even a little bit of straw, then in the morning or every few days you simply fill the bucket half to 2/3rds full of water and take another bucket and gently press it into the first. traps them fully submerged right away, stand there for 20 sec and feel bummed out and then dump, rinse, repeat. You're not torturing them and never risking overnight dead rat soup spilling in your place. When first using the bucket traps and just leaving water in there I did at one point discover that one had been treading water for what must have been more than a day, felt bad as much as I was in a hate fugue about them (the reasonable response to infestation).
>>3010110i have one of these, it trapped the two mice I originally saw and bought the trap for. I drove to my work and set em free in the woods there lol. but i put the bucket back in my garage and i forgot about it. fast forward months later and like last week i was cleaning and looked in the bucket and saw a dead partial skelton mouse so i was like whoa and felt bad.
>>3010110A 5 gallon pail with a bit of grain in it is already perfect, put it next to something climbable, they get in, cant get out, dead within 3 days due to dehydration.Alternatively, get a cat(s)
>>3010182They make insulated buckets. You can throw a couple of pounds of ice inside and that will last a day or two. It's a lot of extra cost vs just using 2 gallons of water though. Make it deep enough that they can't touch the bottom and they die in relatively short order. The real answer is to seal your house properly though.>>3010236>The hard truth is if you kept your place clean they wouldn't come in at all btw. They'll go into any place that's warm in the winter. The rest of your post I generally agree with. Seal your foundation and 99% of mice problems go away.I recently had them eat through the drains in my minisplits upstairs, so I put a bunch of steel wool laced with bitterant around the drain line inside the exterior covers (after getting the drains fixed). The problem is that they piss everywhere to leave trails for themselves to follow, and once one found a way in it was endless. I was dealing with about 3 a week until I figured out how they were getting in. At my old house they were nesting in the chimney. The furnace had a tube next to the tube for the fire place, and it kept the fireplace tube warm enough that they bedded down there. One day we were snowed in and decided to start a fire, sit by it and read with some mugs of hot chocolate and then mice started falling out of the chimney. Had one run under the couch while on fire. Not a fun evening. Those are the only two times I've had mice getting in that wasn't something around the foundation.>>3010424My cat will torture them for hours and hours if we aren't around or awake to take them from her. Drowning is more humane. Also better for the wife since the cat likes to leave them on the bed.
>>3010746>>3010522Yes, as I've said previously in this thread, sealing everything is not practical if at all possible. I will be heading to the hardware store to try certain things, however. >Bucket trap with just a lil bit of food and water in it, maybe even a little bit of straw, then in the morning or every few days you simply fill the bucket half to 2/3rds full of water and take another bucket and gently press it into the first. traps them fully submerged right away, stand there for 20 sec and feel bummed out and then dump, rinse, repeat.Ok, thanks. This is the most sensible piece of advice in the thread so far.
Use an empty metal bucket. Kill them all at once in the quickest way possible when you return.
>>3010746>cat likes to leave them on the bedthose are offerings for you kekcats will also cause them to scatter away than lurk around just like they do with birds shidding all over
I installed the bucket trap and got one kill this first night. I now have two bucket traps installed.
>>3010764Or if you don't want to kill them, put a lid on the bucket, put in the car (or take public transit; ha!) drive at least 2 miles away (across a river or two if possible) & let 'em loose innawoods somewhere. Or in your enemy's yard.
>>3011247I don't have enemies I hate enough to do something so inconvenient.
>>3010124That's what I was gonna say; dry ice specifically
