I can explain this. Phones and some digital cameras don't actually save images with rotation, they're always the same direction and then have a metadata tag telling whatever device you're viewing them on how to rotate it. 4chan strips all that metadata because it also sometimes contains GPS coordinates or owner info, which could be used for doxxing. The solution is to open the image in any kind of image editing program, rotate it however you want, and then save/export it as a new file.
