If you live in the american paper houses, that's an atrocious price, kill them and do it yourself.

If you live in a european house made of brick and stone, that's still overpriced, but doing it yourself is a pain because you'll have to create a channel in the wall and need the equipment to do so.

Unironically a bit like this.
There's channels in the stone which are used for cables and pipes and if you want one where there isn't already a channel, you have to chisel out the stone essentially.
Alternatively there's plastic channels you can attach on the outside of the wall, but those are considered bad workmanship/for cheap bastards.
Our walls aren't hollow, so we don't have a cavity to easily lay the cabling into, which is one of the things I'm always kind of jealous about when I see american home DIY stuff, cutting a hole into drywall and fixing it up later seems so trivially easy compared to here.
