recently i moved out to a bigger place and i plan to repurpose this room to make a home office of sorts, i don't like how ghetto it looks and i don't know how to approach making it look better for cheap, i bought a 4'x8' plywood board and used half of it to make this desk and i was planning to use the rest of the board to make some open shelves, the idea was to cover the raw wood with vinyl and use foam tubing as wrist rests then cover the walls and floor in a similar color to the vinyl cover, i did a test run of the foam tubing and it's surprisingly comfortable and way cheaper than any wrist rest on the market.not sure what to do with the walls and floor tho, the bricks are laterally misaligned and the imitation brick adhesive is covering raw concrete, the floor is just concrete painted red, a carpet sounds good on paper but i have a bad allergy to dust mites and this place is rural and dusty so i'm not sure if that's the way to go, i was considering adding a wall for extra privacy (the red one on the 3d model) but i could live without it, my family is telling me to not bother making this space look pretty and that it's fine as is, painting the walls at most.i prefer dark colors for furniture as i find it looks less distracting when using the pc but i'm open to color suggestions as well, this room has a lot of natural lighting during the day and it was a cold LED light bulb which is why it was painted white by the previous owner.

>>3010943free desks are all over craigslist. I prefer a nice L with a deep corner.take everything out and finish the walls and floor like a basement remodel. there are too many options to list but the room is basically a basement, finish it as such. doing so will also allow you to place outlets in the framing ensuring good cable management.the hillbilly option is to take everything out and paint it with a sprayer but c'mon you're going to spend the majority of your waking hours here do you really want to stare at painted brick and not be able to have outlets nor shelves and pictures easily (I mean conduit and bare metal boxes and shit mounted into the brick is an option but one that's fucking ass and ugly)do it fucking right before you start loading it with more shit and thank me later
>>3010943I like my height adjustable L desk. Since I got kids though I had to take it to work and get a locking roll top desk
>>3010943get a mini-router to buzz the edges of the plywood to rounds.
