You battle her once then never see her again unless you spend some time in the Battle Chateau. Gym leaders are nothing new and her being a photographer isn't relevant to gym leading. You could replace her with any other character archetype and nothing would really change.Perrin's the focus character in a side mission tailor-made around the fact that she's a photographer. You need to meet a minimum progression level before being able to do the mission which is incentive for repeated encounters with her. The story of her mission involves camping out in a tent near secluded woods by yourselves and you saving her from spooky encounters. The fanfiction practically writes itself. She's also generally more memorable by way of having a personality and the nods that she's descendant from a previously well-established character.
