Let’s see what these are.
Another cheap Tomi toy watch and this Samda tank. $30 total.
I really like this one. The other has one of those plastic bracelets you can never remove links from; someday I’ll figure those out.
>>18703302Forgot the pic.
Just emailed the owner of Meranom to suggest making red and white dial variants of the Buyalov NVCH-20 watch.
$98
This is my biggest watch until the 41mm Duxot Henri diver arrives. And I’ll probably not want anything bigger than that.
>>18703356Sweet! I have an S&S tank coming myself soon. I don't remember which one but it's not a reverso type. They make good watches in my experience. I did send back their Monaco because it was too large for me, but I love my 37mm PRX style auto.
>>18703316>"It is not planned at the moment"Rats
If I like the coming Duxot I might get this one too.
>>18703316I could see paying $250 for this.
This was one of the first watches I wanted to buy. Then I decided I didn't want it because of the Roman numerals. Then I decided I didn't want an open heart. Then I decided 40mm was too big. Then I decided I'd never buy anything for over $150 that didn't have sapphire. And now I don't really care about all of that and I kind of want it again. It's $20 more than when I first saw it too. Everything is going to just keep going up. I've seen several watches I bought jump even in just a few months. Of course just because they cost more doesn't mean they're worth more. I just want to save myself money in the future if I think I will want something. That and a lot of Jomashop watches are only at such discounts because they're discontinued due to disinterest. Of course that doesn't matter to me that they're not popular. In fact, it's a good thing if I can get something I like for cheaper. My tastes keep changing and evolving so I may as well just buy anything I might conceivably enjoy while it's on sale. I like an open heart that doesn't make the watch asymmetrical and shows some decent movement...of the movement. And this one checks those boxes. I might get the dark blue because it's $50 less.
Like this one costs more, is bigger, and I don't like it at all except for the indices are better. It also has shitty glass and is overpriced for what it is. I haven't tried Citizen or Orient autos yet, only solars.
It's down to these two. I was mistaken, they both have sapphire where the Orient doesn't. And they have 5 year warranties where the Orient is good for one year. There's something warmer and more appealing about the leather gold one on the left, but the silver bracelet one is more my general style. I almost want the left because it'd be different. The open heart seems to work better there too, since there's no other gold on the silver one. I'm really stuck. The bracelet one is $8 more, but that's a fine deal for a bracelet when I have a number of leather straps that are better than stock Citizen ones. The "limited quantity" and huge markdown make the silver one appeal to some dumb part of my brain. I really can't decide. I could pay $214 and get the white and rose gold one. The open heart really clashes there though.
The black one looks really great. It would match this one >>18697848Unfortunately I can't find a black one new for sale. The video sold me on open heart. At least this one. I ordered the blue and silver since I really don't wear gold unless it's vintage. And no date complication is always a plus.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayRyfDj2kYUI also bought this 38mm Timex Weekender because it was only $24.

shitters.
Never too late for decaf. It’ll be light before long.
So many ugly shitters. At least post good-looking and sovlful watches if you want this thread to be different from the general one.
>>18704019Why don't you start, dipshit? You spell soul with a V? I fucking hate that as much as useless trolls like yourself. And if you think the other watch threads suck as well, what the fuck are you doing here? Go make a "proper" watch thread with the ones you think look good. Do something productive.
All watch threads should be banned.
>>18704052You can't even back that up with any justification. I don't understand why you post to threads you don't have any interest in. But if you really believe that I hope you make suggestions to the mods somehow. It would be more productive than complaining here.
>>18703510And in the end they don't even have it. I got an email telling me they're looking for it and they don't know when they'll have it so maybe try and choose something else. This happened last month with a Mido I ordered.I have to say, I kind of like when this happens. I get the feeling of buying it and then it's undone and I get a do-over. So I can get the gold one or this Heritor I was eyeing the other day for $60 less, in a variety of colors. Or I can get a refund and another nice Baltany or Cronos from China. I don't know.
Or just stop fucking around and instead of buying two $200 watches, get one $400 one like that Vario or another microbrand, or something nicer from Joma.
This 37mm is pretty cool. I don't have any purple yet. Has sapphire and a 5 year warranty.
And I don't have a Bulova yet. Holding out for a precisionist maybe.
Ooohh! "Swiss Made" for $250I think 41mm is a bit large for that style though. The dial is sweet. I'd get it if it were 39mm or smaller.
I don't want to go crazy with divers now, but this is pretty cool. Sellita SW200 movement and 12mm thick. The quartz version is just $108 if that interests anyone. Both are good deals.
Why the fuck is this so expensive?
There it is. The precisionist movement. Not sure I can pay $400 for a quartz though, even for the smoothest sweeping seconds of them all. Or maybe I can. It's just weird that shape being almost 38mm. The main issue is it's only available in that one color. I'm not paying $650 for a color I like more.
I'm finding some pretty cool microbrands.
I'm kind of liking the Panerai style. This is 42mm which is about as big as I'll go. If I find one in 40mm it'd be even better. I don't have any interest in 44mm or larger.
This is pretty cool and could replace the Xeric retrograde I sold on ebay.
This is a contender.
This Baltany is super sweet. I always wanted some bronze in the collection.
>>18704048Why should I do something productive? Why should I post watches? Fallacious logic. I’m lurking and all I see is shitters. Me posting a good-looking watch will never, NEVER, change this state of things. You are a bunch of tasteless amerifat cucks and you will keep posting shit-tier watches. Posting good watches is not going to work as a corrective practice. And I don’t have to. I already have a collection of watches, here I am a spectator.

>>18704240>>18704238Whatever. No one gives a fuck about what you think is a good-looking watch or your opinion of the "state of things". I find my watch taste superior to everyone else's, just like you do yours. These are all good watches. And not "shit-tier", CHAMPAGNE-tier. It's all in the eye of the beholder and for this post that's me. In your post it was you. Spectate all you like. Even launch your ineffective insults if you like. It doesn't dissuade me in the least. It's too bad that you feel the need to put others down for having differing tastes from yours. Didn't your parents ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say not to say anything at all? You must be a very miserable, pitiful dude. Possibly because you don't have the freedoms we Americans take for granted. Condolences.
$165Someone tried turning me on to Aragon a couple months ago but I didn't like divers or 40mm back then. It's like I'm a completely different person who doesn't even know that diver-hating 39mm and under shitlord that was previous me. Anyone else ever have that happen?

Finally pulled the trigger on this. Saw about a half dozen videos before I was finally convinced that it's the way to go. Most expensive watch so far. We'll see how much I actually wear it. But for now I'm really excited about everything it has to offer. And I might immediately return that huge Duxot diver I bought to help offset the cost here. I'm aware that 15mm thick is actually pretty common to find in Omegas and other dive watches that are 41mm and larger, I've even seen some luxury brand 16mms recently, but if I try it on and there's any hesitation I'm just going to send it back. We'll see if I'm "smitten". If so I'll keep it. I keep finding that my tastes change and I don't want to be one of those guys always regretting getting rid of watches. At this level of money it doesn't really make sense to try and resell things to recoup $100 here or there. After ebay takes their cut and you lower it enough to sell, you're probably lucky to get half of what you paid for even a nice watch you barely wore. I know I'd sooner just buy a $180 watch new than pay $100 for a used one. The Ali-express watches are getting less and less interesting. I have most of the ones I want at this point. And if I'm going to spend over $300 I'm looking at microbrands and deals on entry Swiss. And stuff like this Citizen.
>>18704345I think it looks cool. Date window is pretty small but at least it's at 6. And all day of the 18th that watch really looks great. That's its monthly moment right there. Always wear that on the 18th. The crown shouldn't be an issue unless you wear your watch way down at the top of your hand. I've never has any problems with crowns.

42mm, manual wind Seagull movement, $60.I usually don't dig sterile dials, but I can't find this one with branding. Corgeut is known to make decent shitters, so I don't mind their name on it. Maybe I can get them to put something custom on for $20. Some aliexpress stores let you do that.

Hell yes!I recently stumbled upon whatever this is homaging (I’ve since forgotten), and it was of course something like ten-thousand dollars. Still a quartz and looks just the same.I’ll never understand buying one watch instead of sixty. Especially when those people (at least on 4chan) only champion the 10k watches and not even really ever buy them. That’s what the other watch threads are for I guess.Anyway, great little tank here. Fully recommended.

>>18706013Those are pretty cool because they look like a chrono but it's really all just calendar. Probably more useful than timing stuff for most people who aren't judging track meets.
>>18706022Yeah I had the chrono version (pic here) first but the combo of hands/dial/goodies made it essentially illegible. Swapped it out for this and I’m loving it.
>>18706028
>>18706031That’s cool but I find 24hr dials totally pointless. Especially on a chronograph where they should have 1/10th second subdial instead. What is their excuse for that substitution?Timex deserves more respect though.
I have not been giving this watch enough wrist time. Even though I’ve got a couple new ones, this is the one I’m wearing out to dinner. One advantage to having a big collection I rotate wearing is that they all stay mint. I can’t bear to scratch them, which is one of the reasons I have lots of sub $200 watches instead of one or several super nice ones.Yet I also want to eventually settle on one that I DO scuff up because I wear all the time. How contradictory. I kind of hate this hobby as well as loving it.

What a beauty. I managed to find it for just under $100 somehow.
I like this, but I have a 40mm exactly like it which I don’t wear much anymore, so I’m gonna leave the plastic clip in it and not set it and use battery until the day I need to, should that day come.
But I love this hand wind and I’ll be wearing it all the time.I have over 100 now. And at least 80 of them are really fantastic watches. The others were still worth getting for the novelty. Very few regrets. Having a blast.

>>18708116I think everyone should have one outrageous fun watch. Pretty sure that's what the salmon dial craze was, because having a pastel pink watch is as wild as watchfags usually go.
The Precisionist showed up. Accidentally posted this shitter in the horology thread (but I made that thread too, haha) but this is where anyone might care.I’m not sure I’m going to keep it. It’s a little big for my taste and now I’m wanting a brushed finish on the case. If I did it myself with sandpaper it might look cool though. Perhaps if I take off the clip and watch that smooth sweep I’ll fall in love. But it feels like an impulse purchase (ordered it yesterday) and $266 is too much to spend without more deliberation. I’d be happier with the right Super Seville but they’re over $450. Again, a lot for a quartz I’m not head over heels for.I’m gonna sleep on it but I really may send it back. These things were somehow $100 cheaper 3 years ago. I’d be settling for some compromises to get the movement. And while it’d be cool to transfer it into a better housing, I’m not experienced in that kind of work.
>>18708686The thing that turned me off from that watch is also the size. If it were like 2mm less wide it would be great.>>18708698Don't get the Intra-Matic, it lacks a second hand.
>>18708770It's the dressiest Precisionist, and they intended it that way which is why it comes with the shitty faux-gator leather band. The problem is that 42mm diameter and 22mm lug width is very sporty. I wonder if something about the precisionist movement requires it to be so large, but I can't imagine why. It's a really good looking watch, just slightly larger than it should be. At 38-40mm wide with 20mm lugs it would be perfect.
>>18708777>I wonder if something about the precisionist movement requires it to be so large, but I can't imagine why.As I recall they've got a fucking car battery in there because the movement is a power hog.
Opinions on art watches?
>>18708811It depends immensely on the art and by wearing one you are inherently being an attention whore so you have to have a certain mood to back it up. I would never do it because I'm not some eternally young-at-heart whimsical cool guy.
Getting intrigued by Fifty Fathoms homages and came across these San Martins. I can't decide between the blue or green dial here.
>>18709080Green and it isn't even close. Blue is one of the most common watch colors but with that bright a shade it overpowers the dial texture. It also has an assertive and fun mood. The dark green is still visually interesting while being more versatile.
>>18708818>I wonder if I can pull the crown out and save battery for long periods I don't wear itThat was the consensus years ago but nobody had actual proof, or even anecdotes, that it worked as the line was fairly new.
>>18703293Reproduction of the Chinese Pilot watch by Seagull in a NATO strap.
Thinking about a Citizen Zenshin. I don't have an integrated bracelet sports watch and these look really handsome. The white is super clean, timeless, and versatile, with the texture being subtle. The green is a beautiful color and brings out the texture more, but isn't as versatile. Thoughts?
I think I’m gonna send this back. It feels light and cheap. The crown action sucks. Like there’s that gap you get in cheap quartz where you have to turn it a touch before it starts moving the hands. And it seemed to gain 3-4 seconds overnight. Something accurate to ten seconds a year shouldn’t act that way. I set it again exactly at midnight to make sure. But I don’t love this watch and for $266 I’d rather get something i like more. Amazon is probably the easiest place to return to luckily. The caseback and mineral glass suck. As does the strap, and I need to cancel the five 22mm replacements I ordered too.It also sticks in my craw that it was $150 just 2 years ago. Even then it was a cheap watch with only the cool movement going for it.Earlier I’d thought I don’t want to regret not having this, but I regret having it. If I want a Precisionist I will pay more for a better one. I enjoyed it for a night and it does look cool in action, but too many strikes against it.
Oof! I need to learn to use this bluff when I want to keep the watch. What a discount! Still sending it back tomorrow. And now I need to replace it.Which watch would you buy for $266?
I don't understand the appeal of Diver watches if you aren't an actual diverThey look so bulky, thick and distracting on your wrist

Can somebody recommend a minimalistic cheap quartz watch under 12mm thickness, less than 38mm diameter. I see a lot of chinese watches and the designs are so ugly. I like the small thin Skagen watches. I also like picrel.
>>18710627Main thing for me is weight and quartz for accuracy. Don't care for a big dial or strong glass, I don't need water resistance (when tf am I gonna dive 50m?). It is for when I'm cycling.
>>18710629That has a nice style. Thank you for the rec.
>>18710634No, no you see, I realise good specs do not impact accuracy, but thick glass and big dial, + mechanical give big weight, right? Water resistance would be great, that's something I did not consider. I feel that 50m water pressure spec is complete overkill for my use case (heavy rain at most). It would just be cool thing to have.
>>18710634I am not familiar with the differences between the various glass types. Other than that mineral is the cheapest.
>>18710643Acrylic is the cheapest and it's just plastic. It scratches easily but you can buff out most scratches just as easily and it adds a kind of "warm" lighting to the dial.Mineral is the midpoint. It has higher scratch resistance than acrylic while maintaining flexibility so it has high shatter resistance. But if it does scratch, it's near impossible to remove, so you will have to replace the entire crystal if the scratches really build up.Sapphire has the highest clarity and is twice as hard as mineral, but it shatters and chips on hard blows instead of flexing. That said, sapphire is almost always going to be the best option.
>all watches under $500 are dominated by chinks, even seikos are now getting retarded expensive and the value isn't there anymoreWhat the fuck happened to this country? I don't know why China is sleeping on homaging this sort of thing. A 'pointer date'! What a novel concept. So much better than a date window. I rarely covet anything outside of my price comfort zone, and I wouldn't spend $4,500 on a single watch, but I want one like this one. Probably some microbrands are offering it. Maybe I could build my own. Or maybe it's cheaper elsewhere. I usually don't browse Teddy's site for this exact reason. He has watches you could get off Joma for less money. Hell, if these don't sell they'll end up half off on Joma eventually anyway. Still more than I want to spend though. That titanium Citizen should be here tomorrow and it's the most I've spent. It feels both a little irresponsible and also like now it's easier to spend even higher. I don't love the more expensive watches significantly more than those that cost 1/3 or less the price. Some of my favorites were $50 and under. I can tell already that this will never end. It's something that needs to be controlled, or should at least be formally budgeted for. The desire for more is starting to get in the way of the enjoyment of the ones I already have. There's almost a feeling of obligation to give new watches wrist time, even as more exciting ones arrive. Like someday I'll stop and then enjoy them all.To use a drug analogy I feel kind of like I've developed too much of a tolerance here smoking my shitter opium. And buying a $1,000 watch will be like injecting heroin. And there will be no turning back. I really don't give a shit about brand names and heritage and all that, but some watches just cost what they cost and there is no cheap substitute. Eventually I'm going to see the one I must have. It's all so stupid. I want out.
>>18712338It has that Murph look to it. I keep coming back to that. I have my Murph-alikes, other Hamilton homages, and others I was drawn to just because they have the numbers in that font. Is Oris not lifting from Hamilton or is it just permitted amongst the inner circle of top brands? Maybe that font paired with cathedral hands goes way back and Hamilton and a movie are just getting the credit. I found out that pilot Baltany is Hamilton inspired. They’ll probably be the brand that gets me. They make a couple cool ones that there are no homages of and are under $1k. I found a replica site but I don’t want illegal fakes. They can never stand behind their work or give you a warranty. They could get shut down before you get your watch. All of these are well built watches, including the ones from China.
>>18708011My next one is going to be a $3000 taylor. I have a strat and a jazzmaster. Plugging in and setting up electrics is too annoying. I snapped the headstock off my el00 epiphone and bought a yamaha classical a bit ago to have an acoustic to replace it and cover having a nylon while I decided on the last normal steel string I'll ever buy. I decided on the 712e gold label. After that I want a true archtop acoustic and a baritone acoustic. I play with my fingernails so I'm not a dreadnaught person. Also buy the tele if you like country and just get a normal one. My strat is an SSH I bought with 2 texas special hot single coils and a pearly gates humbucker. I figured I could buy one guitar and cover srv tones in neck position and 80s guitar in bridge. I regretted this and should have just bought one kramer or charvel or jackson and one actual normal strat with the bridge position single coil honk. Buy a normal tele in blonde or burst. If you have to buy a squier just replace the switches and electronics, upgrade the tuners, and swap the pickups as you can afford it.
>inexpensive watches>could be a useful thread about the hundreds of inexpensive watches out there>instead it’s entirely a chinese homages thread
>>18712917>That isn't even remotely true.Prove it
>>18713248>>18713249Your posting style is so recognizable, lmao. Always butthurt and passive-aggressive for some reason. Also verbose and touchy. I recommend you throw yourself out the window of the 6th floor you pathetic imbecile.
>>18713431>But the jewel hour markers are gayA fucking anglo, so insecure that he feels offended by anything more tacky than workwear and aesthetics of construction tools.
>>18707867This looks cool as heck (especially the light blue watch face) but it feels like stolen valor if you haven't served in a Russian military unit.
Who is this subhuman retardofuck who posts in every watch thread and gets banned every two days? Fucking kek.
Anyone here ever made their own watch?
>>18713269 I don't like being disrespected when I'm so much smarter than everyone doing the criticizing. But thanks for noticing.
>>18713668is this your first day? the scuba dude is their most popular model, thousands upon thousands of people around the world have that watch.
At last
>>18713668they're very cool and cheap, they also have militar history and in-house movementsyou put "swiss made" tag on a watch with these specs and it would be waaaaaay more expensive
$140

More straps have arrived. A 21 and 2 18s.
>>18716106Looking to get new straps to change up my watches. Any brands you recommend in general?
alone in his hovel shittercel is still going. almost admirable. shame he is a fag.
>>18703560Is this an AI watch or something? What brand is this. Looks cool!
>>18716428sweet, thanks!
>>18704221Buying anything from a youtuber is truly the lowest point of anything. It will not be /fa/, just save your money and don't buy anything. You won't have regrets later.
>>18707867Beautiful.
>>18716730>Yeah here's my uhh... youtuber watch it's really cool though it's got a Seiko movement it's my favorite youtuber I love YoutubeFucking kek. You can just buy a fucking Seiko instead and have a perfectly respectable watch.
>>18716798>they're LESS respectable than many much cheaper watches. So what's the problem here? Wear those then. Practically anything is more respectable than a youtuber watch and I sincerely don't mean that as a dig against inexpensive watches at all. There are plenty good respectable cheap watches like Casio and such.
Or this one. They also come in 42mm, one of which claims to be 4mm thick. Hard to believe. This one is 7mm and 38mm across. I'm definitely going to get one of them at this price.
I wish the black hands were on the other watch. I like the arabic numerals better but the legibility suffers with the silver hands. Plus the strap is brown.Of course there's a compromise for that price though. I should spend that extra twenty-two cents and get the top one.
>>18707269Have this watch, Also got the yellow dial citizen tsuyosa for the summer.
This is a sweet deal on a Swiss made automatic. I can't do that huge date window and I don't like their peace sign looking logo on the counterbalance, but that's a cool dial and it's got sapphire. Great specs for a starter watch.
WE NEED MORE WATCH THREADS
>>18706002A watch does 3 things:>tell time>show off your taste>display the social class you belong toThe best watches and jewelry cost 1 week's income regardless of income level. You won't be devastated if you break it, and you won't feel like or be seen as hiding money like a cowardly terrified jew rolling around town in a beat-up Prius, or an 80 IQ $9/hour Guatemalan hollering at fat latin women from a beat-up Prius, wondering why his Invicta or AP rep is fooling exactly zero (0) tortas.
>>18717035How am I fake for telling you to wear what you can comfortably afford? Did you type that out while wearing your oversized, worthless knockoff shitter? If you spent more on that shitter than the $18 that would buy you a Casio F91-W based on its looks, you are engaging in fashion, and all fashion is signaling. The signal that thing gives is "lower middle class dork trying and failing to achieve timeless elegance." Might as well be wearing a fedora with an anime-themed $1.99 Temu shitter on a flimsy pot metal belt chain.I'd recommend something that is objectively superior, better looking, probably cheaper, and actually fits your wrist, but you'd make them uncool for everyone. I hope you wear your gay little wrist fedora everywhere you go, kek
>>18706573>Cool watch, is that a Rolex?>N-no, it's a uh, "Glycine." You know, like the flower. Not the chemical.
>>18716147It depends on how much you want to spend. I blew $35 on a Golby Harris tweed strap and then found out the $10 ones on Etsy and even the $5 ones from China are just as good. They feel the same even though they didn't come from some fancy sheep from the hills of wherever. Time will tell of course. I get them cheap but not too cheap. I've learned if you spend $4 on a leather strap it may fall apart or have shitty springbar release issues. Rubber ones don't cost much to manufacture so I always have a good laugh at those $200 "FKM" straps you see for sale. I guess as long as people are willing to pay those prices they will charge what they can get away with. There's only so much money that can go into the buckle.Amazon has a big selection. I have a couple of Woccis I like but then others that totally suck. I like some pretty weird styles and I think I might start making my own custom ones since things like that tend to be expensive.
>Batman this>Pepsi that Give me the Homer
Damn, that was fast! They really put the express in AliExpress. Nine days.
Another 36mm hand wind for the collection. I love these things. $27!
>>18703293Here's what I want to buy: Timex Marlin 34mm, I'm hesitant because I didn't notice it was "rose gold" and not pure yellow gold. How do you even match this color in your outfit, would it work with a normal gold buckle belt?
Theres a this digital watch dropped by casio the A140WE looks like a casio tron but they say it has sunray dial.Must want to sell something like the casiotron since that got quite some hype. Looks pretty neat but i might get a griffy.
>>18718229I love mine. My sleeping watch.
Got myself first watch after wanting to buy one for almost a decade. >33mm manual wind >$400 with a few minor scratches
I guess we’ll see how well scratches “buff out” of acrylic crystals. Oof, that’s noticeable. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. Not that I would ever sell this anyway. But I need to be more careful.
>>18719786looks good
>All these new great Vostok designs with sapphire glass>Meranom isn't stocking any of them >Neither is ScubaDudeStoreJust kill me now
>>18719793Thanks. I can tell it’s not going to get a lot of wrist time though. But it’s a totally great watch for $55 and a nice addition to the collection.
I hope this is a step in the right direction. I paid almost fifty bucks for a silly plastic watch I'm never, ever going to wear. Just like I don't wear any of my digitals. I don't need any more fucking watches.
>>18721467Good.Don't be like those fuckers collecting shiny things and posting them, not realizing that their body is half deceased.
>>18721523Come to London.
Local Walmart liberated their watches from the locked cabinets and got this one. Good to finally have a quartz red and blue dive style watch that isn't too huge
>>18721467I pretty much hate digital watches but I actually thought that one looked pretty good. or, like, the best looking digital quartz I've ever seen, anyway
Iced coffee time.
