personally I don't care if someone is ugly or fat or short or whatever, if they've obviously put even a smidgeon of work and thought into their appearance (grooming, clothes, coordination, accessories, etc) I afford them a higher baseline of respect than someone who didn't try. people who don't care about their appearance or how they present are subhuman.
