TL;DR What fanny pack/sling doesn't look insanely obvious for hiding some gear/a gun. Pic rel.

Recently I've been carrying a full-size handgun (with light and red dot) along side a spare magazine and small medkit (pictured, Apex Development MedMod). I need to have these things for a security detail thing I do/personal autism. Now that it's getting hot out I can't wear an overlayer that hides most of the bulging from everything; it creates a plateau effect that is visible with almost every t-shirt. I typically wear now more button up shirts (long sleeve western/short sleeve hawaiian) to help disguise this, patterns help break things up a lot. In the mean time, I was wondering what the best bag would be to hide at least the first aid kit, if not both it and the gun would be that doesn't immediately scream "5.11 Gray Man Undercover Cop Faggot". Rough dimensions of both:
Gun: 8.5"x1.5x7"
First Aid: 5.5"x1.5"x6.5"
Bonus points if you can fit more random crap in there later/if it doesn't look retarded to go running with. Ideally under $200.

maybe you should leave the gun at home

Waterfield Designs. Their crossbody bag. You're welcome.

>off body carry
A hard no for three big reasons:
>you risk the firearm being unavailable and possible legal hell when you take the bag off or it's snatched/stolen
>your draw time, by far among the most vital factors in a self-defense situation, if not the most right after adequate shot placement, becomes absolutely, unacceptably dogshit
>your draw now has extra failure points in the form of extra fine motor movement to operate the zipper and fishing for the inconsistent placement within the bag, in a life or death situation
It may also require carrying with an empty chamber depending on the handgun, or at least a manual safety or DA.

It's retarded, everyone who knows anything about carrying will tell you it's retarded, it's the same reason we don't recommend women carry in purses, get it out of your head. Carry a med kit in the bag by all means, but ccw goes into a kydex holster, period.

I considered it too, I'm not parroting. It's tempting, but the downsides are too much. Don't.

Just get over carrying full size and get a micro 9, they came a long way in recent years. The idea of not being able to handle a self-defense situation with 11+1 and an optional spare mag isn't realistic. I like the Hellcat myself, it disappears under a t-shirt.

It is. Been there.

Fair points on the off body carry. Could throw other stuff like pepper spray in the bag with whatever space is left. The main reason I carry a full size at this point is I'm just better with the red dot on there vs my regular compact.

Just be yourself as a turbofaggot instead of trying hard to appear as a 5.11 Gray Man Undercover Cop Faggot

Get a smaller gun for hot weather carry.

Not OP, but this is why I mention the Waterfield crossbody above. It doesn't use a zipper, it doesn't even use a traditional buckle. It's magnetically held shut, and the buckle is also magnetic. You can draw reasonably fast with some training. OWB is an obvious no go in many places, and appendix requires you not to tuck. Both of those are major issues in a variety of situations. The bag I mentioned is basically the perfect size for a beefy handgun and it will not move. It's not large enough. I've also never been in a scenario where I need to put my bag down and don't still have immediate access to it or someone besides me has access to it. It also doesn't flag as "I have a gun." since it's obviously not intended to be a gun bag but just so happens that a couple of queers in San Francisco made a really good gun bag on accident. The problem is that what I'm tell you is anecdotal because I don't expect you to run off an buy a bag you can't test, and is also very expensive. If you had one, and you understood how to draw from it, you'd see that it offers more than enough advantages over not being quite as fast as appendix or OWB while being far less of a hassle. The only thing you need to be cognizant of is that because it's a genuinely useful bag, you need to be mindful of opening it so you don't spook the norms. I keep a bunch of shit in mine for day to day use. Weirdly, the bag is deep but not wide long, which means you can keep something as large as a P365 Raider in there. I don't but, but you can as I've tried it. Appendix carrying an assault pistol is a fucking huge pain in the ass and can only really be done with one rig, and requires you to basically wear Jinco jeans or some shit so you don't print. But you can do it in that bag, which is odd as hell. There's even enough space to toss a suppressor (unmounted) in there if you wanted.

You mean this one? Only one i see without a zipper.
>You can draw reasonably fast with some training.
Come the fuck on dude. It's a huge ass bag on a sling, it will move around, forget consistent placement, which means forget consistent draw time. You should be capable of putting the first shot a man-sized target at 5 yd within 1.5 seconds at worst, ideally subsecond. Do you even do actual drills with the bag or is it pure conjecture?
>appendix requires you not to tuck.
Wrong, you can tuck just fine with holsters and belts design to be tuckable, like this one for example:

>The bag I mentioned is basically the perfect size for a beefy handgun and it will not move. It's not large enough.
It does move, it is large enough, get real.
>I've also never been in a scenario where I need to put my bag down and don't still have immediate access to it or someone besides me has access to it.
If you're a functional member of society that interacts with other people, you will quickly start looking like an autist that absolutely refuses to take off their bag under any circumstances ever and becomes visibly distressed when someone gets close to it. At best they will start thinking it's a colostomy bag. Not a good look either way.
>not being quite as fast as appendix or OWB while being far less of a hassle
There is no hassle to carrying appendix, literally just wear fitting pants, a decent rigid belt, a good holster and don't be fat.
>I keep a bunch of shit in mine for day to day use.
Oh yeah that is definitely not going to be a handicap in a self-defense situation, desperately fishing for a gun and grabbing some random bullshit instead. I'd also love the possiblity of a random item finding its way into the trigger guard.

>Could throw other stuff like pepper spray in the bag with whatever space is left.
This is fine considering the use case for pepper spray isn't life or death if it's supplementary to a firearm and so you don't risk your life by slower access. Just keep in mind other small items can possibly find their way into the trigger.
> The main reason I carry a full size at this point is I'm just better with the red dot on there vs my regular compact.
Just train more with the compact. The most important thing is to get the first shot on target as fast as possible and compacts don't make it that much harder. A full size handgun will always be easier to perform well with overall, but it's not to a degree that justfies all the problems inherent to off body carry. You won't find a competent instructor that recommends it, too much shit that can go wrong, and you don't want to have shit go wrong in self-defense. Reliability trumps all, which goes for the whole carry system, not just the gun.
