very nice, I got tabac original eau de toilette recently. at first it smelt like an old smoker, but once I managed to undo that association it became a very pleasant scent. it's got such a strong bitter sweet floral woody profile, love it. makes me wanna get more in to classic barbershop scents.

I was just checking and it seems like girls like Vanilla smell most on men. Not saying you should wear a scent just for the sake of attracting girls but it is interesting.

The only consolation being that this thread will outlast the numbered "official" thread by the nerds. Who also read this thread BTW. They don't dare post and contribute to the count or bump, but since they care about "fragrances" they have to read every little thing. Just like how the horology snobs read the PSWT. They must.

So everyone will be seeing and visiting Mr. Epstein and the Crave thread for the next couple months. And that makes me happy.

I don't believe in that 'old money' bullshit. It's dumb enough with clothes. You can't associate aromas with it.

But I'm always looking for new ones to smell and I'd never heard of any of those and some looked interesting based on the descriptions. I threw forty bucks at these ones. I've yet to find a sample that I thought was so good I would pay over a hundred dollars for more. And a lot of these are like $150 for a whole small bottle. I just like variety as with everything. Can't just have one watch, can't just have one scent. I wish I could latch on to one of something and not need more. I like it in theory. But I'd be missing out on variety, the spice of life.
Never even heard of 'vetiver' before.

New to the world of Fragrance but I've noticed that as I spray them in the stores they just smell different. I mean spraying them on the paper. Tends to be much more generic smell. Makes it a little harder to determine how good it truly is.
>>
>>18738796
You’re probably going nose blind from how many scents there are in the air at any time. Sampling at the store is a good start, but buy a decant after initial intrigue to get to know it for what it truly is. A few wears on skin and clothes before dedicating to a whole bottle.

My never smoked, drank, or was vaccinated, organically fed farmer grandmother technically died of a heart attack twice from a bad heart and naturally high cholesterol. I have the same problem. My grandfather died of a rare liver problem that led to cirrhosis and I just scanned for cysts. White so everyone over 50 in my family regardless of lifestyle has had or died from cancer. The food, water, air, clothes, furniture, curtains, shampoo, name it, are all poisoned with preservative chemicals and plastic. I just want to enjoy life. I was health conscious for years. It doesn’t matter now.

become an alcoholic and sniff glue then while you are at it.
water and air can be filtered, you can choose where to live for air quality, you can eat less processed and more organic food, you can choose simple soaps without chemicals, you can buy cotton clothes and curtains.

anyway, I'll keep using cologne. Just maybe switch to fragrance-free laundry detergent and cosmetics and not spray in tight spaces. can't hurt to be on the safer side, don't need more endoctrine disruptors and neurotoxins than we are already exposed to daily.

I still find it hilarious when people post this as if it means they are smarter or more cautious.

Perhaps instead of cancer you will get polio. lol
>>
>>18741596
It wasn’t caution. My grandmother was impoverished and illiterate. One of 18 children living on a farm in the middle of nowhere. Vaccines didn’t role out en masse until Polio in 1959. She was born in 1934. Has nothing to do with conspiracy. My point is she had nothing to theoretically induce health problems. It was entirely her genetics.

>>
>>18741882
>What's a good frag that won't remind people of Indians when they smell it?

It's not necessarily what they wear* but how they wear it.

Firstly, do not overspray. In the same way that you can communicate being playful by wearing an Hermes necktie with a fun pattern vs wearing a loudly colored suit. One guy tells the world he's got a lighter side. The other is a clown. Be subtle.

Secondly, wear a fragrance appropriate to the season. Don't wear some sticky-sweet club fragrance to the gym on a hot, humid day.

*re: what they wear. They like to wear a lot of the same fragrances white people like to wear. Indians also tend to buy a lot of extremely bad dupes (bro, can't tell the difference between this and the real thing, bro!!) instead of originals. Some of this is poverty, but a lot of it is because the dupes' cheap oils are all so concentrated they end up being ridiculously overpowering.
