Hey /fa/ I need your help. I never post or lurk here but I hope you can give me some advice:I managed to get my real first job that I'll start soon where I'll work with a lot of important people. The dress code at the company is business suits. Espcially if we are meeting with clients. On days were we meet no clients they still dress, I guess still suit-like. I currently own one (dark blue) suit. It was also to one I wore to the interview. Now that I'll start soon I need a base set of suits, shirts, shoes that I can rotate with in a 5 days work week.I have some white and blue shirts. What suits should I get? What shoes? In what color? Etc...
>>18725969Get stuff that's not way too big.
>>18725997I've no idea about /fa/shion but I'm not that stoopid
>>18725969Grey, navy, charcoal, olive suitsFrench blue shirt, white shirt, couple of striped shirts Couple patterned ties, couple solid ties, colours to your taste but nothing crazy. Thats all fairly standard. Get nice shoes. Black pair, burgundy, and brown last but browns more a weekend colour. Wear a belt. Remember youre are work, no pocket squares. Unless you work sales.
>>18725969Choose wisely
>>18726016Can you wear sneakers with a suit? Also brown belt and black shoes a good combination?
>>18725969>Charcoal Grey>Mid-Grey >True Blue (shade above navy)>Light Grey >DARK Brown and Black Oxfords >Dark-mid brown derbies >Thrift decent, conservative silk ties. Stripe/light check. >A rain coat. First two grey suits should be suitable for winter. Latter two summerweight. Depending on your office culture, toss in earth tone suits (taupe, brown, tan, etc)
>>18726022No, you cannot wear trainers with a suit. What the fuck. What makes you think that's acceptable? >>18726690Tan? During work hours? Idk about that. Thats like a date / vacation look, at least to me.
>>18726692Some workforces might allow it. Especially for a summer suit. Though if you live in Bongistan you have every right to disregard that and any earthtones
>>18725969>2-4 suitsNavy and charcoal. Two piece, single breast, two buttons. Wool. Weave is on you.>6-8 shirtsFrench, Kent collar. I would go white only but thats me.>2+ pair of shoesBlack cap toe Oxford (x2). Depending on your location and business, brown shoes might be acceptable. Same for loafers.>6-8 tiesAll silk only, prefer solid colors. Thrifting acceptable. DO NOT buy striped ties.
>>18726805>DO NOT buy striped ties.Why?
>>18726812Because they are associated with membership in specific clubs/schools/regiments in some countries. When dealing with international clients, especially from the UK, that is a major faux pas.
>>18726692>You cannot wear trainers with a suit.Like always, rule 1 and 2 apply.I do agree though that wearing something like Nikes or Jordans or other huge stupid sneakers (even the of Jordan 1’s are a sin) is atrocious, however something like canvas shoes or old tennis shoes that are strictly white with zero branding can work IF you know what you’re doing and carry yourself well. If you’re not European though, yeah, don’t do that.
>>18726929>rule 1 and 2 applydo not talk about the suit club?
>>187269471. Don’t be ugly2. Be attractive Something this board has had a mighty struggle to grapple with since it’s inception since most anons look like ogres, and not the Shrek kind, Shrek actually has something going on.
>>18726818Oui m8 u go' a loisense to wear a striped tie in the UK??
