Been a fond wearer/maker for decades now. Just received some solid gold hair beads (picrel, top left) from a local shop, and now I’m wondering.

The most my hair jewelry extends to are metal braid cuffs and beads from the beauty supply, I don't use much else. I prefer using wood beads, they are the most effay.

Another thing I’m partial to are natural stone beads. I own both Jade and amethyst beads from (1). Although I wouldn’t purchase them again myself because it feels odd (to me) to have a loc brand that doesn’t feature any kind of POC anywhere at all in big ‘26… at least when it’s so easy to purchase from someone I “vibe” with more lol. Zelda is often depicted wearing one as well, although I don't know what her real-world equivalent would've referred to it as exactly. Pretty much all cultures had a thin headband with an affixed jewel. Especially if they had access to metallurgy. La ferronnière is the only one I know the proper name of.
