The only advantage of dri-fit slop is that they're easy to wash and dry while traveling. And since they're so thin and lightweight, they're also easy to pack/carry. But I would never wear a dri-fit shirt, because plastic shirts make you stink like shit. I only wear dri-fit sweatpants pants.

I have had great success with polyester in dry heat conditions. It dries quickly and at least the adidas tshirts I have worn felt breathable. Maybe you guys wear elastane mix or tighter weaves?
