Are these really as good as everyone is saying?
>>18729548That particular color scheme is a bit much, but New Balance shoes are generally excellent, particularly the Made in USA ones. They are comfortable and supportive and are available in multiple widths.A few years ago 990s in the classic gray color scheme were very fashionable but now they're back to being mostly dadcore.
My 2002r developed holes in the heel cushion after like 30-40 hourly wears.Kinda sus.
>>18729587for some reason, their flagship model 991, is only available in one width and it's narrow as fuck, pisses me off
>>18729601>flagship modelThat's probably the 1080 or the 990.
>>18729548I find it weird that New Balance always seemed like the ugly shoes the awkward kid in class would wear when I was growing up in the early 2000s and now zoomers are clamoring for them. Is it an ironic thing?
>>18729725I feel it started as a kind of ironic thing with the 'normcore' movement years ago, but then NB started to get more creative and modernize their designs when they realized younger people were interested in them. they also did some other stuff to help their cool factor like putting together a really good skateboarding team and getting back into sponsoring NBA players.
>>18729725Why do you find that weird?
>>18729736I explained in the post.
>>18729738It must be your first day on the planet, styles evolve.
>>18729742It's weird that dadcore shit like NB and champion is trendy now. Stuff like that gets popular because it's cheap functional slop, nobody should buy it now that it's overpriced.
>>18730295>nobody should buy it now that it's overpriced.199.99 for a durable, comfortable, well-made, American-made, sneaker isn't really overpriced.
>>18729730574s were trendy during the Herschel backpack era. But yeah 990s became huge during normcore, loads of pictures of models wearing them. Miss that time to be desuuuuuu
>>18729548Idk but they are ugly as shit. It's ok to stop wearing NB.
I feel like the NB meme is just brand shilling. I’ve yet to see anyone wearing new balances who isn’t an old boomer.t. Not a flyover state
