Do 501 and similar thick cotton jeans only look good on thin models? I have a bit thick legs and seat and have been wondering why I look fat in those jeans but not in dress pants.

You are just fat, simple as, anything looks shit on you, lose the weight fatty.
>>
>>18731544
those jeans do not look good by the way

22.8bmi , 0.86 hip to waist ratio. Not fat, not slim either. Dress pants look good on me and drape whereas thick cotton jeans stay rigid like I'm wearing an armor.
>>
>>18731544
Because you ARE fat. 501 were invented when 99% of men were thin, and athletic like the blue collar workers that were meant to wear them. They aren't for fatties. And they were always slimmer in the seat and crotch area, at least since the 80s.

Thick cotton jeans need time to break in. After that they drape pretty much like sweatpants. They can be rigid for a while also after washing. But will go back to being soft after a couple of wears.

>bmi

LMao this is how I know you're a fat shit

>thick fabric is rigid

straight cuts look bad on husky guys. zoomer cuts and military style cuts that are closer to dress pants and less close-fitting will look better on you.
if you want something relatively cheap go to bronson mfg and get some reproduction denim military fatigues, they'll have that more dress pants-like fit and look way better on you.
prices are lower on taobao than their english website. should be around the same as levi's for way better quality.
>>

fair warning though, they don't have the longest inseams. you might need to shop around other brands using my general guidance if you're tall or long-legged.

denim needs some washes to begin draping properly, especially raw denim which will also be full of starch. the thing is denim, similarly to canvas and high quality linen, will soften up and drape nicer every wash. which is the opposite of (some) common dress pants materials, which will look and drape nice right away but worsen slightly every wash.

my last pair of 21oz's were as soft as sweatpants after a few years in the warehouse and 20 or 30 washes. they had a nice baggy fit too. i gave them to a friend who went homeless so he'd have something warm and loose enough to layer under and he got his tent robbed and lost them before he got back on his feet. i miss those shits like you'll never believe.

I seem to have fallen for the never wash your denim meme
>>

i generally put up with shit drape for a year when i want fadez, and focus on the long term.
you can soak the starch out without losing much color. the piss yellow color that will be left in the water is starch not dye.
or you can wash with a uv brightener free detergent (i use woolite dark care) inside out with spin cycle on low/off and some towels with them so they don't wrap up on themselves and it barely affects fading at all.
if you do spin cycle off you just wanna sandwich the jeans between two towels, roll them up. then press/stand on it to get them dry enough to air dry.
the detegent's worth having around to wash your darks with anyways.

and from the knee up jeans will slowly soften with wear without washing. from the knee down only washes do much, they don't see much mechanical force or abrasion down there.
>>
>>18731761
when you soak itll look like more dye bled into the water than actually did btw. the starch chemically reacting with the water will make the water look like you lost a ton of dye but when you dry the pants you'll see barely any came off.

You know nothing about denim
Maybe delete that ugly ass pic from the OP and people would take you seriously
>>
>>18731772
Explain what's wrong with that fit
>>
>>18731772
im not op. i hate niggers too. that's why i turned his shitty bait thread into genuine advice.

>>18731775
back pockets too large, back pockets too low, rise too low. aggressive v shape yoke paired with a relatively low rise is a contradictory combo. the v is supposed to sit above his ass, not on it. looks sloppy and bad. from the thigh down its fine.
