I don't own any Gokkun-Shock yet. Got my first Casio, aWS1600H8AV. I really dig the tachometer-style graphics on top. Turns out it uses a module that belongs to a 2000's watch made specifically for soccer referees. This is my first Casio after decades. Used to have a F91w on 3rd grade or so.I'd have prefered the standard grey bezel model, but it was a gift.

>>18734499It's resin rot and cannot be stopped. There was someone in Brazil who made repro bezels and straps for more obscure models, but I don't know if they're still in business. There are hundreds of models for which Casio has discontinued parts.

>>18735122Yeah the timing was a bit funny with the photos above me. Though resin can still last practically indefinitely when not exposed to the elements so the half metal g shocks really seem like the best of both worlds. You don't get to pay more than twice the amount for the full metal model, and you get the protection and longevity of steel while the resin parts on the inside remain in pristine condition, untouched by the elements.

>>18743017realistically, there's not too much difference between the T80s and the vintage Illuminators, although I tended to gravitate more toward the Illuminators simply because the band is much simpler; the Calculator watch was my daily driver for a while because of how often I was working in the hospitals but it got retired after I got my Apple Watch and just wore that to work instead. I wore the Claculator so much the rubber straps broke (extremely common) and at the time, new bands were $10 and a new watch was $15, so I just opted to replace the entire watch. Kinda surprised and frustrated at how expensive these cheap Casio watches are considering I remember getting the small ones for maybe like $20-30 a piece with the gold versions being maybe an extra $10-20, but looking them up recently out of sheer curiousity: some of them are going for almost and easily double thatThe small Casio's are nice because they realistically go with any casual/summery outfit and are super light so they make excellent lowkey wears in the heat. The T80s I typically wore for more business casual summer events since the band has a little more design to it (which is typically why I almost never wore the black one) but if you'd have to recommend between the two designs and could only pick one: I'd go for the Illuminators because they are just SLIGHTLY more versatile: although you can't really go wrong with either of themother than that; it's simple, and it's humble: so I'm pretty happy with my little "vintage" collection. I remember gifting my brother and a few friends some T80s at Christmas/birthdays/etc when they were cheaper and everyone was relatively happy with them as they realistically look like, and did the heavy-lifting of, a more traditional/expensive watch
