I have an old pair of shoes that have been well-worn and smell quite bad now, but other than that they are completely fine and I want to kee wearing them. Is there a way to remove the bad smell or are they unsalvageable?
>>18736388Put a lump of charcoal in them and keep them somewhere in the open to get some fresh air.
Put some talcum powder in your socks after a shower. It kills the bacteria that feeds on your skin oils and causes the smell. Your shoes don't stink, your feet do. It might take up to 2 months for the stench to completely subside but it will.Talcum powder is also an awesome deodorant for the same reason.
After you deodorize them you should rest them regularly going forward, don't wear them every day if you can help it. You should also start wearing wool socks if you don't already.
Just buy new shoes, you totally poor piece of shit.
>>18736535>charcoalthis.You can also try pouring in a few tablespoons of baking soda, leaving it overnight, and vacuuming it out.
>>18736388I’n in the same boat my man and nothing fucking works. I’m just going to toss them fuck it.
>>18736388what I do is first spray them with a deodorizing spray then after that dries I stick a satchel of charcoal (the ones made for diaper genies) then plug up the foot/ankle hole with a ziplock baggie so the air stays inside the shoe and gets absorbed totally by the charcoal.
>>18736388Stop wearing plastic shoes. Adults wear all leather shoes. Time to grow up buddy
>>18736388>>18737007Just not wearing them for an extended period of time has worked for me. Get some other shoes and put the smelly ones somewhere dry for a couple months and check them out again later.
Put them in a zip lock bag and put them in a freezer for a day.
>>18737652Doesn’t work for me. I don’t wear half of my shoes during winter and the minute I put my feet back in them the stink sort of warms up and there it is again.
>>18736388Fill a bucket with water, add some white vinegar and soak the shoes.
>>18737899I think it's mainly moisture that activates/creates the smell so make sure the socks you're wearing are kinda solid and also avoid walking through puddles and shit like that. My most recent pair of shoes got stinky as fuck after I got caught in the rain and they got super wet.
>>18737892I have heard this kills the bacteria or whatever causing the smell, but I've never done it. couldn't hurt, I don't guess
>>18736388Leave them out in the sun
>>18736388if you can take the insoles out then I would just throw those away and buy some new ones
Are you people with stinky shoes bathing EVERY day and wearing fresh, clean socks every morning before putting the shoes on?I find it hard to believe a few hours of wear would make such foul odors if you're starting off clean.Maybe change your socks halfway through the workday to keep the issue from occurring.
>>18738506I'm not even a feminist, but the character of Dee on that show really is a 1-D stand in for all the words and punchlines the guys concocted. She is honestly a textbook case on how not to write a female character.I don't care about politics, it's just not realistic.
