I was gonna give it a rest but these new straps came in the mail. Thanks again to whoever suggested that discount strap site for me. I forget now what it’s called but they have some great deals and the quality looks, feels, and even smells good.
This fully lumed strap seems to work, but for how long we don’t yet know. I probably won’t use it. Fun little purchase for a few bucks.
I keep searching for the perfect strap for old Negroni here. This is fine I guess. Eventually the key will turn and I’ll know it.I think I will always be worried about scratching it up no matter what strap. But I like this better than the last one I had on there and it’s far better than what came stock.
Anyone else do this to break in new straps?

I was in Japan this year and got a nice Seiko. Saw these while I was there. I swear to fucking God if they post rotated I'm never posting again. I'm not editing this shit
>>18740650I don't know about all that nonsense. I just like watches.
I might get this sterile hand-wind California dial 38mm for $80. Made by Merkur, a quality company.
>I was in Japan this year and got a nice Seiko.
Are these similar or am i delusional?Rolex texano and the new casio autos.
I still wear my Neutra Hybrid HR. It's "smart" enough without looking like a monitor strapped to my wrist, and the battery lasts 2 weeks
I'm thinking of getting one of these. It's 40mm and sort of like a Panerai. I'd like a 38mm with no date but this may be as close as I get. I'd pay double for the right one.
I love my Zenshin 60. I wear it all the time.
Finally ordered the real deal after buying like ten $5 ones and one $35 one. These seem to be thicker and more like velcro where the cheap ones are more flat.
>>18740911one looks pretty cool and could be a fake, the other looks also cool but the dial has too much contrast, the text on the dial contrasts with it again, and the bracelet is probably worse
After days of deliberation on how to spend my credits I pulled the trigger on this violet Seestern. I'm kind of done with aliexpress watches. I have all I want from there now. But what's one more small seconds watch? It's got that Nomos style without being $4,000 or one of the shitty looking replicas. The ST17 has been a great movement for me in the many watches I have with it. I dig the 38mm size with 9.2mm thickness. The coupon for that red Proxima I wanted expired. The other wasn't good enough. Imagine turning my back over $7. But it's enough like the other two that it seems dumb to get yet another. Violet will be a first though, and that's pretty cool.
got this a few weeks ago for (much) less than 500
>>18741439Sweet score.
I just grabbed this also for $37.Will arrive tomorrow.
Should I buy this? It's $70USD or $100AUD on facebook marketplace. The only other watch I own is a casio square digital thing and I'm looking for something gold with a white face which I can wear with like light coloured clothing.I'm a gigapoorfag and don't mind the fact that it's scratched but idk if $100AUD is too much to pay for it
>>18741602I wouldn'tNothing wrong with a Casio, so just rock that until you can afford something that's actually nice. Doesn't have to be expensive, but man that Citizen is really beat up and they're cheap watches in the first place.
>>18741602That's just a standard quartz. Why the fuck are they even asking so much? You can get a new Citizen quartz for $100 on jomashop or amazon.
>>18741361Are Citizen’s watches the best option for a $300-$500 watch?
>>18741741Depends on what you want. I normally don't spend so much but I do really enjoy that one. You get more for your money than Seiko (hardlex, folded links) or Orient at that price (Orient Star is cool but mineral glass still at nearly $500), but design is important too so you need to get what looks good to you. There are a lot of cool microbrands in that price range. You can get some entry level Swiss (Mido, Tissot, Certina) from Jomashop and some great vintage stuff on ebay for that money. Or a really nice IXDAO or San Martin. If I had to choose a watch in that price range right now though I think I'd get this green/silver Super Seville.
>>18741602That's filled with scratches and dings from another man's adventures. Get any other new watch for yourself and make your own scars on it.

36mm, open heart, Miyota 9000 series, $250I don't give a fuck that it's a women's watch. It's cool looking and green and I think I'm gonna get it.
I love the design of this one so much but it has a 49.5mm lug to lug and 40mm case so I'm worried it'd look silly on my 6.5 inch wrist
>>18741602what year is it? why is including the year not a given like for cars and car people? it’s like, an essential piece of information
>>18742442You have to test it on your wrist. But that 50mm L to L is stretching it. Around 45mm L to L with 38mm diameter watch for a 6.5" wrist might be ideal max dimensions. Especially if no external rotating bezel then the dial looks bigger, so the watch overall looks bigger.

I attached the hooks earlier today so I wont know if it properly works yet but it I dont see why it shouldnt.
>>18744957I only see this working if you open/close the door 200 times a day, and Earth's gravity is inverted every 15 minutes to actually spin the winding rotor around instead of just rocking it 20-30 degrees which may not actually wind anything
>>18744957>>18744960depends on the movement. if I just breathe on my watches with PT5000 it starts moving in seconds. any swiss ETA clone or Miyota I feel needs serious 360* spin action before it gives a shit and even then I'll be shaking and swirling it for minutes before they wake upfind a way for the watch to lay flat so the winding rotor actually winds instead of just rocking a tiny bit. and yeah you're going to need to open and close that door more often than your mom opens and closes her legs in an NFL locker room

Bro does anyone make normal looking watches with normal looking dials on normal looking cases
How important is sapphire crystal? I see a lot of watches in the "affordable luxury' category utilize mineral crystal as a cost-saving measure. Should that be a deal-breaker?
>>18745368There's simply no excuse not to put it on every watch over $100. Many that cost less are equipped with it.The only people you will find arguing with that logic are Seiko fanboys who hate that everyone has turned on the brand because the prices went up but the specs are still shit. It's not a dealbreaker, but if it has the word "luxury" in there and it's several hundred dollars there's no reason for them to cut the costs and give you a $7 mineral crystal over a $20 sapphire one.
>>18745513>There's simply no excuse not to put it on every watch over $100Agreed. Casio managed to include it on some of their edifice models which regularly went on sale for under 100, so there's no reason why other brands can't follow suit.
efk-200d-2a , Cop? Got a MTP-B146G-9AVEF recently and its getting a good amount of wrist time. A little too simple in design tho. >>18749596Yes, and watch prices in general are crawling up. They're also intoducing more Chinese branded mov'ts (not the Chinese made NH or Miyota). NH prices also hit the modding community. If there are Chinese brands that are improving their finishing, QC or warranty standards, then it may also increase the cost. Also, oil wars, inflation, import taxes.

>>18751256That's a bit much to not get sapphire. Check similar models; they may have upgraded. From what I've seen Citizen will give you sapphire at a lower price than Seiko or Orient. I have three and two of them have sapphire. I usually won't pay over $200 for something without it, but I have. Keep shopping. At least Citizen usually gives you the 5 year warranty.
