Good news: A new sunscreen filter ingredient is approved by U.S. FDA, more than 30 years after the last one was approved (before FDA rule changes that make it unclear what manufacturers even have to test for to get a new ingredient approved), and it causes nearly no skin irritation nor is it absorbed into bloodstream
Bad news: It's bemotrizol, an ingredient that has been in use for over 25 years in rest of the world. It's one of the newer filters that made Korean sunscreens way less irritating. It's so old, the patents have long expired.
Worse news: The approved version is a specific patented version of bemotrizol bound to a gel and is very expensive, it likely will only be used in super expensive sunscreens that you have to talk to a saleswoman in Nordstrom to buy.

How do you feel about this development, /fa/?

>ancient people wear hats and linens for 1000s of years and never had problems
>modern people need cancer causing chemicals to protect them from an even lower chance of getting cancer from the sun
>>
ITT: We find out why white people in the U.S. have completely busted skin by age 30 and look way older.

Goddamn I love 4chan. You constantly train your Bullshit Muscle during every subsequent psyop. Thanks schizos

false dichotomy. sunbathing for hours is bad, tanning salons are even worse, but going outside for 30 min without sunscreen is good. if you're going to be outside for more than that, wear a hat and linens like your ancestors did

They were in Scotland where there's no sun 270 days of the year.
