Corporate greed is the reason why fashion hasn't changed much in decades. Fashion is a form of art. You can't have art if all you care about is utility, practicality and profit. Art is beyond that. Same reason why architecture looks so ugly and soulless now. It's all about utility and standardization for ease of business.
