Should I paint my armor gold or will it make everyone at the ren faire hate me?
>>18753598Looks dope
>>18753598You're going to come off as a Jaime Lannister cosplayerWhich could be cool
I can trim your armor for free anonAnon wishes to trade with OP
>>18753674don't do it OP, this guy is a scammer
I'm also considering blackening it, which prevents rust, then putting gold leaf on the rivets and edges, like this.
>>18754045This looks the best of the 3. Is that actually your armor? What's it made of? How much does something like that cost
>>18754045looks sick but what about copper on rivets and edges? (even though that does tarnish)
>>18754061I don't own the armor yet. It cost just under a thousand dollars, and isn't actually that high of quality. A fully tailored, high quality battle-ready set will cost you thousands.>>18754063I like how gold stands out better. And I just like the color of gold in general.Anyway, here's that same idea but with more realistic colors on the blackening armor and the chainmail.
>>18754061Oh and it's made of mild steel, which is why I want to blacken it - it will be at risk of rust otherwise.
>>18754080Blackening it will not make it immune to rust, my advice is to sand, clean, and paint the back side then either hot wax the outside it or oil it frequently. You will need to oil rivets and chainmail regardless.I do steel combat, and while your armor won’t require the same level of maintenance, you will still be sweaty and hot in it if your local ren fairs are in the summer like mine. Also be aware that pajeet plate rarely looks as good as the pictures and may require some modifications to fit correctly.Enjoy your armor brother!
you should make it leopard print
>>18754157>Also be aware that pajeet plate rarely looks as good as the pictures and may require some modifications to fit correctly.I suspected that, since they don't take your exact measurements and the images of the armor are always AI. Though I hoped the latter was mostly because they wanted it in a place with trees and good lighting rather than the alley in Calcutta where they make it.
>>18753598I'd recommend against painting a suit of armor, because it's just going to scratch off the paint at any point were two plates rub against one another.
>>18754045Significantly better
