Why don’t you buy (or at least lease, idk why tf would someone lease a citizen tho) another watch and post updated pictures? People are tired of these ones and it’s kinda annoying seeing the same stuff over and over for years, you’ve been doing this since 2024 for fuck sake

Maybe I should lease a citizen for a month. Just take a few pics and repost them indefinitely. Profit????
>>

There's no profit in this. Unless that troll considers negative attention to be currency.

Talk about a fail-safe watch!
Even if 3/4 movements get fucked or run out of battery you can still use the watch for it's intended purpose. Genious actually.

And it only hangs over any wrist under 9.5" thick and weighs 300g. Totally worth the chance that the batteries will die at different times and it will save you.

>>
>>18755219
Honest question. What does the number of jewels mean?
>inb4 joke replies only
>>
>>18755262
It's the number of pivot points in the watch. Generally speaking, more jewels mean that the movement is more complex internally, and has more little gears.
>>
File: shanghaispider.png (941 KB, 739x928)
941 KB PNG
>>18755265
By that metric this Shanghai should get fuckloads of respect. But it doesn't.
>>
>>18755269
Complexity isn't always a good thing. Adding jewels that do nothing just for the sake of saying you have 35 jewels makes you fucking retarded, and just creates more failure points.
>>
>>18755272
And that's why they added them. Just for the "brag" and they do nothing.

You fucking dumbass.
>>
>>18755273
It's still complexity. It's not useful or justifiable complexity.
>>
>>18755276
How do you know? I bet if it was in a $100,000 watch you'd be cool with it and find it justified. You're a hypocritical tool. It's useful because they designed it that way. You don't have the authority to question Shanghai.
>>
>>18755240
Hmm, normally I’d say cringe but it’s only a $100. Could be a conversation piece. If you like it, get it. If you look into the details and specifications of the watch and you don’t give a shit/aren’t amused then forget it.
>>

>>
>>18755277
some pivot points need to be strong and don't care about friction that much while others do the opposite, not that I'd know what that caliber has going on inside it or anything about watchmaking in general outside of a few stupid youtube videos

Idk I personally prefer this one, also comes with a day along the date so in terms of functionality it’s superior.
It’s a great tool watch that’s meant to be worn, with a robust movement, I recommend.

Rolex is one of the best if not the best manufacturer of reliable and robust tool watches, with zero fluff. Their “day-date” models have a robust and accurate movement that can also account for the current date and day of the week

Looking for some recommendations. I've been lurking these threads lately as I've started thinking about purchasing my first watch.
I'm looking for an all-purpose, relatively discreet everyday watch, like a dress/sport type watch or possibly something with a slightly more sporty/diver aesthetic. Ideally, I'd like something with a silver-tone stainless steel case and a stainless steel bracelet as well. For the dial, I'm mainly looking at white, black or dark blue. I don't really wanna spend more than ~500 on it.
Some watches I found interesting are the citizen tsuyosa 37mm and 40mm models, tissot gentleman and seiko 5 sports, especially skx style models like SRPE55 or SRPK29. I'm not necessarily set on any of these, though. They're just some of the models I've come across that have caught my eye. I'm especially interested in recommendations that I might have overlooked. If you have experience with any of these models, I'd also appreciate opinions.

The rainbow oxidation is cool. Too bad it's way too zany to be worn everyday
>>
>>18755419
That makes sense. I'm just one annoying character but I'm often conflated with several others, many of which are annoying to me.

And I also create a lot of these watch threads so without me the whole hobby here would probably....
stay exactly the same but maybe drag a little slower.
I'm bored with all this anyway so we'll see.

This one looks nice but it's a little reflective. Is it worth dropping $680 on a microbrand watch with a miyota movement?

Chris ward or longines would be pretty legit and respected so you could wear for 5-10 years and not have fomo about some prestige brand.
>>
>>18755455
Not in my book. Even if it's a 9000 series Miyota. You could maybe make a case for $480, but still seems too much for what you get.
