If it wasn't for the association with Chris Chan it'd be an okay if not slightly dorky but nothing too terrible sweater. I see people wearing way more ridiculous stuff regularly. Like just earlier today I saw a guy wearing a super bright pink shirt as well as super bright yellow pants and bright orange shoes and a bright purple baseball cap...I'm not joking. His outfit literally hurt my eyes to look at from all the bright colors. And another day I saw a guy in a bright green pajama onesie that honestly made him look almost exactly like Dipsy from the Teletubbies since he was also fat as fuck.

Rugby shirts/long sleeved polos are great fashion pieces, they fit well with jeans, slacks, and most jackets. 99.9% of people have no idea who Chris Chan is, and so long as you don't wear a yellow sonic medallion, you'll be fine.
