I'm 40 and never bought a suit. I'm thinking about getting a couple of cheap 100% wool ones from Zara so I a) can see if I ever end up wearing them as I try to branch out and b) if they fall apart when I inevitably hand wash them.If I'm 183/6' and have a build like the typical male model for these clothes, most things should fit well off the rack, no?
I don't have any nicer shoes besides a pair of Dr Martens derbies and a pair of black loafers I hate wearing. I would probably dress things down with some sort of hiking shoe or casual leather shoe. What sort of suit would suit my vibe?
>>18758631>suit from zaraIt will be a terrible suit because of cut, material, construction and details. If you want the cheapest suit possible go to the thrift store, and if you want a decent cheap suit go to suitsupply.>I will hand wash itSuiting wool is typically worsted and it will lose its texture if you wash it in water.Suits that are made to be washed in water are going to be terrible quality, worse than zara's.The lining layers of a higher end jacket will also lose their shape if they get wet, so you'll have to iron them back to shape if you want the jacket to go back to its original(best) shape.>I have a model's physiqueA size 48 drop 6 or drop 7 suit will look great on you (if you really have a model's physique).>what would suit my vibeIf you mean what would be good dressed down, anything that's not too gaudy.Any single breasted navy, charcoal, mid gray, dark brown or even black suit will do.>a suit with hiking shoesIf you're uncomfortable with loafers, everything points to you also being uncomfortable in a suit.
>>18758649I'm 100% washing anything I buy, the idea is to also to experiment with what works.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UEO_gXGghs makes it look very possible to wash.>It will be a terrible suit because of cut, material, construction and details. The cut and overall look seems fine, if it fits me like that.>A size 48 drop 6 or drop 7 suit will look great on you (if you really have a model's physique).I have a 106cm chest, and I wear 29 to 31 pants depending on the brand, mostly 30. So that doesn't sound right. >If you're uncomfortable with loafers, everything points to you also being uncomfortable in a suit.I have slim european style loafers that make me feel like my feet are tiny compared to the rest of my outfit volume, maybe with some more chunky ones I'd be fine.
>>18758656sure, go for your zaraslop and be dissapointedits not like you're gonna change you're mind anyways

>buy 4 suits from Zara, end up wearing none of them because they are stiff and uncomfortable >buy 1 high quality suit or sport coat, be amazed at how comfortable it is to wearchoose one OP. if it absolutely has to be Zara, get only the one from your OP picture, as it is the most interesting one
just go to brooks brothers or ticknors and order a copperly suit through them. spend 1k on a a decently made and properly fitted suit and stop caring about suits.

Go to a department store an get one mid-tier suit you like >Tailoring is king, find someone good to tailor it>Don't skimp out on the shoes
>>18758742Oh and if you really want a trial just go rent a suit for a bit
