>clothing that fits an aesthetic, silhouette, or general avant-garde look
>where to get clothes that are high fashion, avant-garde, or fantasy style

You may wonder how this differs from cosplay - cosplay focuses on being recognizable as a specific character while this focuses more on form. Of course, many of these images have exaggerated or impossible proportions such as super thin waistlines, hero height proportions, and low body fat. The goal is to take this inspiration and find ways to imitate it in a realistic way.
>>
for multiple long layers I could see something like this being made with Yohji
>>
I'll be posting styles that I like, typically I like a lot of layers which is hard to achieve in rigid cosplay-style fabrics. High fashion or avant-garde provide more viable options for layering
>>
some elements I like:
>kilts
>scarves
>capes
>combat boots
>armor-like pieces
>padded shoulders
>high-neck collars
>feathers, fur, and natural details
>>
I don't own any vests, but I think they would look good with some of the ruffle shirts I own for a gothic/victorian style
>>
not a big fan of hoods but I love the multiple belts that make the waistline look thin
>>
I have a really cool hat from Triangles Hat but it's not in the flat-brim western style that a lot of my inspo includes
>>
outside of j-fashion it's very difficult to find coats with a capelet which I really love
>>
shag haircut
>>
love the exaggerated shoulders and frilly shirt
>>
might be able to recreate this look with:
>alice auaa
>marc le bihan
>ann demuelemeester
>>
>>
this is like a pirate/military look
napoleon coats and jackets are in right now but it's tough finding one that won't break the bank
>>
I like anything that looks like armor:
>bulky shoulders
>super thin waist
>wider around the hips
>>
I have some ideas for creating a look like this but like I said it's very difficult to find a capelet or mantle that's well made and not cosplay tier
>>
>>
I guess I also like antlers, there's a cool pair of heels with a deer antler as the spike but they're for girls obviously
>>
not sure how I could ever get a good looking headdress, you can get plastic slop from etsy for like $1000
>>
>>
I like
>gothic
>bohemian
>avantgarde
>military
>vkei
>romantic
and more styles and want to combine them all somehow
>>
I've thought about starting my own project where I make hard-to-find pieces like standalone capelet jackets. There are some Chinese options but the quality is really bad.
>>
trying to mix in some realistic AI images
>>
>>
I'm really sick of modern clothes and how boring they are. Everything is function over form
>>
I have this look in my head that involves a capelet but I can't find one.
>bulky top and shoulders
>thin waistline break
>bulky hips with a wrap scarf
>combat boots and a cool hat with feathers
>>
if Julius was less industrial I think it'd be my favorite brand because they have armor-like leathers
>>
let this be your thinspo!!!!!
working on losing weight, my upper arms are like 14.5" around and way too big for avantgarde fashion
>>
women have so many options for cropped jackets to create a break at the waist but its very different for men
>>
this thread idea was difficult because I want to include some images that have a hint of realism and aren't pure fantasy
>>
I suppose the dyed fur and beads here could be considered bohemian, in Japan there are vkei brands like gunda that have what I'm looking for but very expensive
>>
was thinking of dying my hair white but its a lot of trouble
>>
the style I like with the exaggerated thin waistline is much easier to do as a girl. I try to avoid the typical rectangular male shape because I worked so hard to have a v-taper, my chest is about 8" bigger around than my waist, but I'm trying to lose a bit more around the waist
>>
>>
not big on patterns but I do like tartan
>>
I might try to get some hair-jewelry one day. seems like it'd be falling out
>>
I love this silhouette but as a male. Take a shirt or scarf and wrap around the hips to make them wider. wear a padded shoulder casual cropped blazer for the shoulders/chest, and a tank top tucked in for the waist
>>
>too fat to fit in my boots
I don't even work calves
>>
I think a capelet like j-fashion brands used to offer in the 2000s would complete my look - I've got almost all of the pieces I need
>>
it's been tough not throwing in real pictures
>>
