No. That's how it works everywhere. Jomashop sells for cheaper than any of the websites of the brands and it's still a new watch.

You have a lot of research to do. There are scams out there, but you're not a good critical thinker if you just look at price and jump to that conclusion.

Christopher Ward is so fucking retarded and lost as a company. They just released a new "slimline" skindiver case in 39mm and 42mm with a bunch of really fucking ugly dials and bezels... But their previous dive watches were already better looking AND smaller and thinner. They both fail at aesthetics AND the point of what a skindiver is supposed to be within their own lineup. This company is fucking done.

Good eye, my friend.

To be honest I don't wear the G shock much besides when I go to the beach or need something durable but I think it pairs best with bright colors. The crystal is blue and orange depending on the direction due to some weird optical effect so it's best to just lean into it and wear a magenta shirt and white shorts or something.

Bottom right is a Vaer D5, this is arguably my favorite right now

Tudor is for copers, and it is an unhealthy cope.
Why spend $4k on a BB instead of just getting a real Submariner?
If you are spending 4k on this, you clearly want a Submariner really bad. If you can't afford it, just get a fucking loan at this point.

If you don't want it THAT bad, then just get a San Martin or something.
Tudor is the wrong cope. Spend small money to cope, spend big money to get the real thing.
>>
>>18762085
What if I actually like Tudor more than Rolex
>>
>>18762085
Tudor is Rolex without the hype tax. It's for people who care about the watch itself more than the brand name. The BB doesn't even look like a sub.

San Martin is pretty much the opposite, it's for people who want the hype more than the watch itself. So you pay as little as possible for an exact visual clone of a sub without any of the mechanical aspects.
>>
>>18762085
A sub is $10k minimum, almost 3x the cost of a Black Bay.

That's like claiming someone is coping if they buy a $30k car instead of a $100k car. That's what they can afford, or want.

I want a field watch but I want something american made… the Timex Expedition has really caught my eye, along with the Hamilton Khaki Murph. Given the ~$900 difference, I’d have to save up to get the Murph (and I know the Hamilton isn’t american made anymore). Any other field watches you guys would recommend that could maybe replace/fill the shoes of the Murph for less money? You can recommend non-american made as well; if something is good enough value I might drop that requirement.
>>
>>18762140
What's more American than a Biden for $9?

I challenge you to break 50 of these in the time it would take you to break a $450 watch. You're not doing it.

Just placed an order for the black dial variant of the Kofe time citizen after a few months of deliberation because I liked the size, and I liked that it has the quick set / "jumping hour" feature similar to some aqua terra models for travel. Not a bad price either imo, especially used. What do you guys think?
>>
>>18762126
The only problem here is, cars are actually useful, so buying what you can afford works great.
Watches on the other hand are all about fun, feelings, prestige, craftsmanship, history, etc. Basically everything except being useful. Therefore, Tudor falls quite short of what Rolex represents.

There were some guys earlier today saying how the new Christopher Wart diver is "owning" Tudor fags. I do not agree with them fully, but Christopher Wart is quite close to the level of Tudor if we are being honest. Sure, Tudor's history mogs CW, but it's a history of not being Rolex, so is it really something you enjoy?
>>
>>18762195
I think it is retarded to buy not paper dial models.
>>
>>18762227
Yeah agree, they have so many cool dials. I like the meteorite looking ones. Idk why you'd get the one that looks like a tsuyosa.
>>
>>18762195
I'd rather have a 36mm Longines Conquest VHP for $500. Same 5 seconds per year accuracy and perpetual calendar, but it has an automatic hand-repositioning system if it takes a blow rather than requiring manual adjustment. It also has the ability to clam up for safety when exposed to shock or magnetic fields, and it can go to sleep with the hands at 12 to save power when you aren't using it. It's cool as shit and has better design, and it's also half the price.
>>
>>18762227
>>18762240
Price and size. The sunburst model like in Picrel is 37mm and 10mm thick vs the meteorite dials which are 38.5mm diameter and closer to 12.5mm thick. I've found that size is basically the most important thing to me when it comes to actually wearing and enjoying a watch. Also, I got that watch for 1100 off of chrono24, the cheapest meteorite dials which examples are over 2k, the washi paper dials in the smaller size with a bracelet are very rare and are over 4k.
>>
>>18762241
I prefer the design of the chronomaster personally, but to each their own. Also AFAIK these are regular quartz battery powered watches, not solar.
>>
>>18762195

I wear the leather strap Seiko more with warm outfits and the rubber strap Vaer more with summery outfits. Besides that the only rule is NOT to match. I generally just try to match the saturation and value of the colors, for example the Seiko is a dark rich green so it goes good with any gemtone colors, any earthtones like brown and tan, and obviously white and blue. If I'm wearing a green shirt or pants I don't wear the green watches because I think "matching" looks too cute or simple
