Are they actually good? Will this canvas stuff last?>Bag, Japan
It’s been around forever. It’s a heritage brand so that’s why it’s expensive. Is the quality there? Maybe, but people like John Mayer can buy that shit cuz they have millions so the $800 bag is a drop in the bucket for them.
>>18763445>Bag, Japanyeah something that is designed extremely well, uses high quality materials, and has style.
>>18763445I absolutely love my messenger bag from them.
>>18763445Great deal if you're in Japan, really overpriced if not
>>18763736For once, the meme is right.
>>18763445For the price of a plastic Porter bag you can get a very high quality leather bag elsewhere.
>>18763812>>18763745Right that's what I'm thinking
>>18763750it's always right, ratboy.

DEI shit is so out of fashion my dude hard pass
There's a metric shit ton of Porter stuff and some of it is really cheap and bad. If you're specifically talking about the Tanker line which is like their most high end stuff then yeah it's really good. The actual layouts and designs of the bags are always really well thought out. It's a huge difference next to how general fashion companies typically design bags. The Tanker series Nylon is insanely durable and also holds up stupidly well. Those bags can get absolutely beat to shit and not really show it at all. Unlike a lot of other bags that end up bummy as hell after a few years of heavy use. Also because they've been around for ages and rarely update their designs it's pretty easy to find whatever model you want second hand; and it's almost always in great shape for like a third of what they retail for.>>18763812Leather bags weigh like 3 times as much and don't work with every aesthetic though. I've got pic related from Porter and there isn't really a good equivalent for it. It's technically a camera bag but I just take out the divider and it's basically the perfect shoulder bag which are usually like fanny pack size and way too small or like messenger bag size and stupidly huge. I also pack a tote bag in the front compartment so if I end up needing more space I just pull that out.I have a backpack from Porter too but the Camera bag is so much nicer and covers like 99% of situations. The only time I use the back pack is if I have to bring a laptop somewhere. Anyway I wouldn't trade either for something in leather. I used to have a leather Dior Homme duffle bag and it's retarded for everyday use. Leather bags only make sense as luggage imho.

>>18764357>a nylon shoulder bag is less bulky and more practical daily than a leather duffle therefore nylon > leatherWoah, if only they made leather bags in other formats beside duffle. Also the point is that leather is the more expensive material, paying more for nylon just because it was made in Japan or it suits your style better is retarded.
