I think the US just has a much lower floor with our endless fat slobs in basketball shorts and crocs occupying much of the country. However, go to hip yuppie areas in Brooklyn or the Marina or Silverlake and it’s pretty indistinguishable except for some of the most stylish areas (Milan is easily the most fashionable and stylish place I’ve ever been).
