How do you stop getting this shit after shaving even when you properly cover your skin with gel? It only happens at the edges of my beard. All the edge of where my beard grows is in red. Idk how to stop getting this.

could be your razor. a lot of people don't tolerate cartridge razors well.

I wouldn't even get the bumps if I went against the grain or did cross grain (as I wanted max level smooth) but if I fucked up the angle just a little, I'd get the bumps, and it was always right under my chin. I get an excellent close shave with safety razors but getting those bumps if I don't get the angle exactly right was just too annoying.

>>18771282I found a different method. I hop into the shower and use pretty hot water, so I get some decent steam in there and then just massage my face where I think I'd probably fucked it up. My thinking is that it's from hot water/steam opening up pores and hairs getting trapped in closed skin is what causes the bumps. Don't know if it's placebo or lucky, but it's worked for me.

Its caused by your facial hair curling around the the sharp edge from the last shave irritates your skin and makes it look like that. You already had shitty skin under your one week beard before you shaved. The only way to prevent that is to shave more frequently.

This happens because your razor isn't sliding perfectly straight. Either use shorter strokes or change your blades more often. Thicker lubricant, like shave butter also helps a lot.After all that, use centella oil and a neutral facial moisturizer as aftershave (or get an all-in-one like pic rel).
