It's probably a tapered cut more often then not, that wouldn't even be skinny on someone who is skinny. The point more so is that there are infinite styles one can wear, and some simply look better than some worse on certain age groups. And if one is seriously interested in fashion then imo one should also come to simply accept that. The same way one has to come to accept that certain colors simply don't work with one's skin tone. If you ignore this and simply dress however, then one isn't even really into fashion, one simply dresses without concern for aesthetic cohesion. And someone like that is just as bad as someone who doesn't care.
