I want to get a parka for this winter, but I don't want it to look like a generic npc winter coat (pic related)
Any suggestions on what I could look into?
>>
so you... don't want a parka?
>>
>>18770662
Are you telling me parkas that don't make you look like a middle management millennial don't exist?

>>18770665
you could go for the zillennial PhD student look i guess
>>
>>18770668
You seriously don't see what I mean?
>>
>>18770669
no.
idk dog a winter coat is a utilitarian garment first and foremost.
>>
>>18770670
Well for example the one you posted even though I wouldn't wear it is distinctly less npc-tier than my OP pic.
I'm looking for something that is a parka (i.e. long hooded coat) but with a cut, details, fabric or whatever that sets it apart from the sanitized corporate friendly cold weather uniforms churned out by most outerwear companies
>>
>>18770672
then your options are milsurp or arctic expedition gear.
you you could get a big woolen cloak i guess, go full wizard-core.
>>
>>18770615
Barbour, if I really had to

>>
>>18770674
I like the military style (fishtail or the old NYCO ECWCS from Alpha which they stopped making) but I like designer spins on milsurp more than milsurp itself
Unfortunately brands like Acne and such stopped doing that and you have to dig on grailed for stuff from 2013 now, if possible I'd rather avoid buying used anyway
>>
>>18770681
i guess you could look at weird upcycled milsurp like Maharishi.
i find their AW26 line is a little light on proper winter offerings thoughbeit.
>>
>>18770684
Some pretty nice stuff in there even for the mid season, thanks
You're right though little in the way of winter coats, only a couple things
>>
>>18770685
are you baller enough for Vollebak
>>
>>18770686
I didn't know about this brand, neat stuff, too expensive for me though
>>
>>18770615
Brandit is the worst of worst
>>
>>18770712
In terms of being npc core?
>>
Unironically zara
>>
>>18770719
That would be the least problem. The quality is scandalously low for the price, sizes are off, snap buttons fall apart, etc. Take some actual cheap military clothing, not those pseudo- military- urban rags, and it's going to be better in every aspect.

I want a black parka

The shit you posted is poorcore.

You have actual current designs, but for good quality, it will start at $400 to $1K.

Is milsurp poorcore?
>>
>>18771085
If it's tailored and 100% cotton, no.

But a cotton blend 60% cotton 40% plastic (if not 100% plastic) with a shit slim cut like the one the OP, it's classic poorcore.

No I mean actual milsurp or milsurp-inspired pieces. Like this Raf for example, or even the bundeswehr coat itself
>>
>>18771091
>100% cotton
What if I live in a rainy area though
>>
>>18771078
Get Bundeswehr Parka or M65 field jacket instead. Why do you wanna look like an old british guy with tiny eyes?

Where can I get a dark gray or black bundeswehr parka in europe?
>>
>>18770681
this if you are doing outdoor activities with it.
>>18770615
Otherwise a Peacoat works well and can be dressed up or down.
>>
>>18771120
another good option is the older 1990s Canadian Army OD Field jacket. You can find them on Ebay.
>>
some decent parkas from Finland:

nothing is more npc than asking others what to wear to avoid being an npc. grow the fuck up, retard
>>

Do you own the coat in the pic or something

Long (knee or below) puffer coats are kino
>>
>>18770615
So funny how white collar urbanites who only spend 5 minutes a day outside going from a heated car to a heated building feel the need to splurge out on gay ass parkas
>>
>>18772080
They look retarded and feminine.
>>
>>18772224
that's exactly why they need it tho
a body needs like two weeks to acclimate to the season, if you're always in heated cars and heated buildings then the winter feels that much colder and you never adapt to it

see also americans bragging about how much hotter their summers are despite spending all of their time in air conditioning
>>
>>18771078
Oh hey, I ordered one of those a couple days ago.
Should show up early next week, looking forward to it.

Help me choose anons. I want to look as normcore npc office communter as possible.
>>
>>18772224
You don't need to splurge there's plenty of affordable winter clothes.
Layering is annoying, it's easier to put on a thicker jacket and not having to wear a midlayer when you're in and out of places.
You don't win anything being a tough guy. I used to be wearing my work shorts (tradie) year around even in -10c, it's not too bad if you're only out for 10-15 min and it's warm inside, but it's much comfier to wear proper clothing when it's cold.
>>
I strongly dislike jackets. I've only seen one jacket in real life that I didn't think was ugly and it was a moose knuckles parka.
>>
>>18772459
like this?
>>
>>18772502
the hood was not that color, that color reminds of piss. I think it was silver or white.
I took a picture of the kid infront of me wearing it lol (it was in my variational calculus class) and made a thread about it, just found the thread on warosu.
>>
>>18772459
>Moose knuckle or mooseknuckle may refer to: slang for the visible outline of a, usually male, crotch bulge through clothing

Embarrassing.
