How do you stop beard dandruff?
>>18775206Shave.
Shave it clean
>>18775206Try conditioner, or a little bit of coconut oil
>>18775206Fire.
>>18775206Suicide.
>>18775206Cum.
>>18775467I'll try that>>18775213>>18775378>>18775601>>18775602>>18775612Can I get a non meme answer?
>>18777120ketoconazole shampoo
Exfoliate about every other day, which you would normally do just by shaving. Rinse it out afterwards. When cleaning your face, just use regular facial soap if it's short. If you have a long bushy beard, you have to care for it using shampoo and stuff like you would the hair on top of your head. You can probably search around for beard oils an shit too if you really want to go down that rabbit hole.If you still get a lot of dandruff, it's probably because your face is just getting really dried out and you should focus on using a good moisturizer/oil over caring for the beard hair specifically.
>>18777120Shea butter mixed with emu oil and castor oil with a few drops of tea tree oil
>>18775206How do you even GET beard dandruff in the first place? I'd never heard of it until this thread. Gross.
>>18777259Mother bitch, it's the exact same as scalp dandruff. The skin underneath needs exfoliation and moisturizing
>>18777259>How do you even GET beard dandruff in the first place?Same as any other place on your skin. Usually normal flora getting out of control because you're a gross person, but also underlying diseases like psoriasis or as simple as stress or refusing to moisturize.
So I'm assuming this just happens to people who don't bathe every day.
>>18777661i shower every day
>>18775206Stopping being indian(no cap on god tho, I put minoxidil on my skin for beard growth and it gives me dry skin. I clean it up and it won't be a thing after I quit minoxidil but it's taking a while. Like a couple years and it's getting thick really slowly)
>>18777661literally the exact opposite
>>18775206I used shampoo in pic related in my beard every couple days and also thoroughly combed out the beard more often as well. It might not like totally cure it but it definitely got it to a point where I didn't have to worry about it getting on my clothes or anything. The beard also felt way better as well.
>>18777825This shit is terribly harsh on your scalp
You might be washing your face with water thats too hot
>>18777254How does one go about milking an emu for oil?
>>18777120>>18777128This is the non-meme answer and the only way you're going to tackle dandruff that bad. All the guys talking about conditioner and oils alone are full of shit.>Ketoconazole shampoo 2x week>Face/beard wash 2x daily>Apply beard oil after every beard wash>Boar bristle brush to exfoliate the skin and distribute the oil after every wash>Drop the ketoconazole when the dandruff disappears
>>18778100Idk i havent tried too many shampoos but this feels the best to me from what ive used in recent memory.
>>18777661thistake a bath you filthy browns>>18777823literally a fucking retard
>>18778127With great difficulty
>>18775206>Beard Shroomit's so fucking over...

>>18777120I had really bad dandruff (big, half-dime sized flakes, some of them) in my facial hair and shaved the first two times it happened. The third time, I got a decent beard wash, made sure to really work it in and let it sit for a bit, during my shower. After, I dried my hair well and worked in a dollop of hydrocortisone cream, which helped my skin as well as moisturized the hairs. About three days of that (cream twice daily) and I was dandruff free.
head and shoulders and selsun blue just made my dandruff more powdery. maybe it lessened it some, too, but it was still there.coal tar shampoo is the first thing that actually worked.I make sure the shower water is getting down to my face skin by holding my hands against the beard and letting the water pool in the hands until I feel it on my face. my beard hairs are thick and waxy; and with the body oils also, I don't trust that water soaks down to the skin under there unless I force it. then I wash my beard with normal shampoo to clean it. then rub in a tiny amount of the dandruff shampoo and it lathers right up. wash my body, then rinse beard with one of those silicone scalp massage things to exfoliate.if you use a brush or comb on your beard, make sure to wash them out with the same dandruff shampoo that works for you.for me, the dandruff takes weeks to come back so I don't use the dandruff shampoo except once every 2 weeks.I recently switched to ketoconazole shampoo and it works better and lasts longer.in either case, I didn't buy Neutrogena or Nizoral. amazon sells cheaper coal tar and ketoconazole shampoo that eradicated that shit. I get dandruff in my hair, too. I use them for both.
Head and shoulders, the clinical brand that is a little more expensive works really well and dosen't damage the hair.
>>18779768>head and shoulders and selsun blue just made my dandruff more powdery. If you mean the flakes were smaller and lighter, that means that it was working.
>>18779951ok, but the other stuff completely eradicated it
>>18775206>>18777259Could be Seborrhoeic dermatitis too, which can trigger the dryness for any reason. Main way is keep moisturizing and hope that the weather, your mood, diet or something doesn't affect it.Avoid hot water. Massage wash it with shampoo. There are hair salon videos showing how to correctly wash your head hair, massaging it (usually for ~2min). Do the same with the beard. Heard people say Head & Shoulders has helped better than those expensive soaps/shampoos.Can also try shamp/cond that has salt or doesn't. Every skin reacts to the salt differently.
I've had good luck with this stuff. Everything else I've tried leaves me with bad dandruff. Works well as a face wash too so I can do beard and skin in one step, I use different shampoo for my hair though.
>>18779974If it worked, then everybody is happy. Just saying that it sounds like you started with one product, then switched to another when your skin had already begun to heal.
>>18780871no, dumbass, I used head and shoulders for like a month and didn't see any change since like the second application, then I tried selsun blue for a month, no change. then same deal with salicylic acid shampoo. THEN the coal tar actually worked immediately.you just assumed I was doing it wrong to make yourself sound smart.
>>18777128>be me>have dandruff for 15 years>try every OTC shampoo, nothing works>figure I'll have to deal with it forever>hop on steroids a few years ago>everyone online says take minoxidil finasteride and ketoconazole shampoo>suddenly lifelong dandruff gonethanks /fit/!
>>18775206You either have psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, or dermatitis caused by MCAS. Talk to a dermatologist and keep it short until then.
>>18780908I rescind my good wishes for your health. You deserve to be itchy and flakey on when you are on your deathbed.
Absolutely shambolic how all the literal retards in this thread think dandruff is dry skin when it's the exact opposite.
>>18780908Head and shoulders is the worst product you can use anyway. No idea why anybody would advertise and shill for it. It uses the cheapest chemicals imaginable and rinses your scalp of all its oils. The natural reaction of your scalp? Produce an overdose of oils. It completely fucks up your skin and puts you into an endless greasy hair loop.
