Serious question: Who makes clothes for an affordable price that you can just throw on and makes you look presentable without sacrificing quality? I don't want to think anymore. I just want to put shit on and leave my fucking house. All fast fashion shit is based on trends so it won't last. I'm just looking for the most uniform-like clothing that I can throw on and run it through a washer and dryer and go about my day. There doesn't seem to be a clear middle ground with this shit. Fast fashion is cheap but feels disgusting and anything above that is like $100 for button-ups and shit that I think is overpriced.

>I'm just looking for ... clothing that I can throw on and run it through a washer and dryer and go about my day

thrift store bitch nigga
>>
>>18776548

you need to first settle on a style that you want then pick the vendors that sell high quality clothing in that style
if you want quality fits and fabrics you have to be willing to pay.

for basics uniqlo has good quality for the price
and they hem their pants for you in-store
outdoor gear brands like patagonia, vuori, columbia, north face, etc are also decent quality

youll also probably want more synthetic fibers so you can just throw it in the washing machine without having to babysit them

but again you didn't say what style of clothing you want: street, athleisure, classy, etc
>>
>>18776578
I mean if all you want is basic flannel, basic oxford, basic tee shirts, basic jeans, basic chinos you can get that pretty much anywhere. If you want a good deal on it, honestly quince. I have 2 of their 380gsm tee shirts and they're actually great. They feel and fit amazing.

No, just people who don't want some fucking used shit. Do yanks/anglos just love wearing someone elses clothes?
>>
>>18777910
Not him but I want to build some kind of minimalistic capsule wardrobe in a casual style
Heavy cotton tees, straight leg pants, generally boxy or roomy cuts and flowing silhouettes without being cartoonishly oversized, materials that age well and won't need replacing every couple years
Should I just buy everything from Uniqlo?
>>
Wrangler is what you're looking for. Humble, inexpensive, and decent quality for the price. I don't know how it isn't a Staple

>>18780906
This is one of those venn diagram situations where you can choose from 2 of the following
-Quality
-Price
-Used or not
You cannot get first hand, cheap and high quality clothing. Muji is the best option out of what's available until you start getting up to Graphpaper Auralee Loopwheeler etc.
>>
>>18780928
Muji is the most miserably bland clothing I've ever had the misfortune of laying eyes upon.

ralph lauren OCBD's off Ebay and jeans that fit you

Then you're not getting cotton.

I'm like you Anon I want to look presentable in well fitting yet confortable clothes but everywhere seems trash and more and more plastic everywhere.
Uniqlo quality has degraded by a lot it's insane. I need a new store to fit the nice of quality natural fiber basics for a fair price

I think I’m on the same page as you guys, I get some stuff from uniqlo but sleeve and pants length limits that for me - and haven’t had good luck with t-shorts either (the basic cotton crew just are very crude & look cheap, managed to shrink the supima ones). I’ll reassess my washing practices & try supima tees again. I am happy with the selvedge jeans & pleated trousers I got from them, same as a blouson & puffer (puffer even survived the dry cleaners).

For similar kinda sleek, modern but clean I have tried COS (but t-shirts again went to shit), and I also was an idiot with washing some other stuff. But it’s decent prices and I think if you wash at 30 & don’t tumble dry (as opposed to 40 and do, like an idiot), it’s good.

Zara also has some looks I like, but quality is awful, won’t even mention H&M lol. I checked out Arket recently, but it was pretty bought out. The style also seemed pretty good, similar to COS.

What I really like is suitsupply - it’s a bit more expensive but the materials are way better, actual cotton and wool. Got some very nice shirts, pants & knitwear there, quality also holds. I lost some weight and they nicely took in both a suit & a good white shirts I had for only like 100 euros too.

Honorable mention - massimo dutti, I like some stuff, sits somewhere between COS & suitsupply.
>>
>>18776548
>Middle ground
Mate, how delusional are you? 100 USD are fucking nothing. It's not the 90s anymore. And you want qualify wares? Are you 12 or do you have a bachelor's in gender studies?
>>
>>18781843
I mwn
I mean - 100 euro gets you a rather nice button down. 50-60 gets you cotton that’s also ok, from like COS or Massimo dutti.
>>
>>18781852
1) cotton doesn't equal cotton, there are countless difference weaves and cotton qualities out there, if you buy low quality cotton you may as well buy plastic
2) raw material quality doesn't equal piece quality, because the quality of the piece relies heavily on the quality and extent of the stitching, how said stitching accounts for stress points etc.
3) COS isn't quality, it's Bangladesh made trash that lacks all the above and uses absolutely terrible materials, e.g. the fucking COS wool shirts they advertise as shirts you can wear on your skin are low quality 25+ micron wools that are itchy as fuck
>>
>>18781855
I’m talking button downs. Yes, not all cotton is equal, yes - cut and stitch matter. I have also seen people wear cos shirts specifically for like 5 years, washing them correctly & looking good. If you’re picky - fine, but you are exaggerating at 100 dollars being nothing. That is not true, chief. Is it a lot? No. Is the quality of literally every commodity down in the past 20 years? Absolutely.
>>
>>18776578
>i ain't wearing some used ass clothing
then stop being poor, loser
>>
>>18781905
Used clothes are better value than new costly shit, because the know-how belongs to the past, and style comes from the past, and no one is going to make the same good trousers and shirts your dad and grandpa used to wear. Period.
>>
>>18781855
You're a just being a retarded contrarian. No plastic tee or flannel no matter how expensive will feel better on your skin than a cheap ring-spun cotton one. Even if you wanted something nicer, supima rarely go over $30. 100% cotton jeans go as low as $20 and if you really need a big name sourcer, uniqlo has Kaihara for $50.
>b-b-but le third world manufacturer
Faggot complain, if the stitching and construction is ok no one but hipster fags give a shit
>le wool shirt bad!
Absurd cherrypicking, we all know the only acceptable wool on your skin is merino and even then it won't be as nice on your skin as regular cotton.
>>
>>18781865
im happy with the oxfords from Uniqlo. Flannels, idk i thrift those, but denim shirts i get from Levis or Wrangler.
for dress shirts, i get them made to measure as they come down to same price if not cheaper than most brands and fit a lot better
>>
>>18781938
I’ve gone through a lot of dress shirts in my corporate voyage - some cotton is definitely made different, like I had some Boss shirts which boasted “Swiss fabric”, and I don’t know if that’s true, but they basically just never changed, I just got tired & got fit so I got rid of them. Had some Seidensteckers - also very good, those eventually started showing some wear & stains (talking 2-3 years weekly wear & wash).
Now I have some white Suitsupply egyptian cottons as my main workhorse + some polos.
I would try uniqlo, not above it, but sleeves are too short for me, I wear 42 long because I am an orangutan.
>>
>>18781932
>Look presentable
>Jeans and tshirts
Perhaps you should read the OP. Wearing a jeans and a t-shirt certainly isn't "presentable" unless you're 12 or at least a 9/10. I am not even gonna bother with the rest, since our understanding of "quality" is completely different. To me this term can't even be used unless the garment hits a certain threshold. If Uniqlo is "quality" to you, then my condolences. At that point 70% of the wares available in the market are. May as well not use the term to begin with.
>>
>>18781956
you can always go see a tailor. would cost like 10-15$ to fix.
also i quite like Charles Thyrwitt. feels like decent value. im a big fan of their linen shirts especially
>>
>>18781958
ISO 9001:2015 (not changed with the recently published v. 2026) gives definition of quality:
“the degree to which a set of inherent characteristics of an object fulfills requirements”.

Requirements are largely defined by either contractual obligations, established industry practices or the applicable legal norms.

The word does not mean “good” or “luxury”, you absolute fucking mong, and you roleplaying posh is pathetic and shows you for what you are - either a delusional rube or a rube with money.

If a shirt from uniqlo is sized as described, made from the materials promised & lasts for the regulatory minimum period of warranty (say, two years in the EU), there are no quality issues.

Any item you purchase has to match the promises made about it, law & general industry understanding of, for example, what an Oxford shirt is.

An Opel is not inherently lesser quality than a Bugatti as they do not make the same claims upfront.

And you’re a retard throwing around words you don’t know the meaning of. If you say Uniqlo isn’t luxury, no one will argue with you. If a shirt disintegrates on first wash following instructions - there was a quality issue.

Go fuck yourself, you pathetic, arrogant, uneducated cunt.
>>
>>18781958
>quality is based on brand wanking and high pricing rather than the actual quality of the product
Typical hipster retard bullshit
As for looking presentable, dark blue + kakhi jeans of a proper fit and a $40 oxford is all you need, it's infinitely more presentable than plastic "dress" garbage and wrinkly chinos. Not like you have to do much of a effort these days when everyone dresses like shit, the only one who will outdone you is the other /fa/g who cares enough to buy a non-thrifted $2000 suit.
>>
>>18776548
Thrift store/ebay if you're broke
Uniqlo if you're semi broke depending on what you're buying. EG I think you can get 100% cotton dress shirts, and they have decent jeans/chinos when on sale.
MtM, like proper cloth/spier mackay/kamakura if you have money.

We may have different definitions of affordable, but if you take care of your semi expensive clothes they last a long time.

>>

>>
>>18781980
I never claimed this. But it you think that an H&M or Uniqlo cotton shirt, cause you jokers keep going on about 100% cotton, feels, drapes or looks the same as something that's 100USD+ and from a reputable brand, then you may simply be unable to judge touch. This isn't about brand wanking, but simple facts in relation to quality. And feel, drape, construction, sustainable production methods, origin etc. all factor into the quality of a good. We simply have different understandings what "sacrificing quality" refers to.
>>
>>18776548
Just build a capsule wardrobe yourself

Personally I like Uniqlo airism basics nowadays but I have the Carhartt pocket tees as well and random shirts I like

Collection of layers as years went by from alpha industries ma-1s to random crew necks including random Uniqlo collabs with the C, U , +J and occasional Kaws collabs
>>
>>18781964

Iso 9001 is just adherence to the standards you said you would abide by

It’s paper pushing and not anything serious

Most shops I’ve been in with 9001 certifications we just offload to unskilled white collar paper pushers
>>
>>18782522
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahhahahahahah

Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahhhaahhhhahhahahahhahahahhhahahhahahahahhahahahahahhhahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhaha

Imagine being the westoid retard that thinks that price correlates with quality when the profit from the "quality" garment goes to fund someone's hedonistic lifestyle in NYC/LA/COPENHAGEN/WHATEVER.

There's nothing, nothing, NOTHING that correlates price with "drape", "feel" or whatever past a very very low price threshold. You're paying for story, instead of making your own with the clothes you buy.

You are disgenic and you think you can make up for it, if only you save up, if only you can fucking put more of your money towards this purchase, then you will get accepted.
This is why a guy wearing a combined 50 eurodollar wrangler shirt and jeans combo mogs you.
>>
>>18781958
Define quality…. Is it the ability to cut a pattern within 30 microns every cycle?

Then yeah Uniqlo with their fiber lasers has even the most skilled stabile row tailor beat

Is it the use of sea island long staple cotton?
>>
>>18782527
You're projecting again. I didn't say what you accuse me of doing. I am simply pointing out that you are factually delusional if you think the garments you continuously shill are quality ones. They aren't. You're buying fast fashion quality made in some Bangladesh slum. There's nothing to really be discussed here cause you clearly have absolutely no experience whatsoever with fabrics, and think that any price hike is the exclusive result of being jewed.
>>
>>18782522
expensive t shirts are the new fedora. no one cares about any of the stuff you listed except other euphoric anxious neurotic redditors.

Gildan makes the best white tees for $2 each
>>
>>18782527
So what's the threshold when quality doesn't correlate with price anymore?
>>
>>18782522
First, you are a complete goy retard if you think paying +$100 immediately equals a better product when there are companies selling literal plastic shit for +$100, talk me about sustainability you dumb faggot.
Second, "drape, feel and construction" have more to do with the shirt type than pricepoint itself you hipster retard. Of course a $300 short will have slightly neater details, but at that point you just want to impress other equally lame fedora faggots.
>>
>>18782727
Maybe not being a retard and looking at the product's quality? The most importanr thing for a shirt to last is weight, even if you pay $250 for gimmicky hand-made details it won't matter if it is lightweight shit.
