What is even the point?

There is none. They will extract all your time, energy, youth and potential from you. Then you will die.
Maybe stop being a goody two-shoes goy mark if you don't want this universal trajectory to become your life path.
>>
>>77276279
The point is not going hungry or without shelter. And if you have a good job you collect toys and go fun places and build financial security till you dont need to work. Im only going to semi retire and work on my little farm.
>>

You can try living off grid and surviving. Of course you will never workout ever again if you do this.
Or you can stop being such a pussy and just work for a living and live a normal life where you can actually do shit you want to do.

Why are zoomers so blackpilled on this? I genuinely believe 75% of white-collar workers could safely retire before their 55th if they made the right decisions right from the start of their careers. I'm thinking
>not buying vanity items and/or 'toys' ("trendy" clothes/electronics/furniture/food)
>minimizing your subscriptions, loans and credit (get a car you can pay for by cash, never finance)
>investing part of your income monthly, ESPECIALLY in the beginning of your career
>being assertive enough to either ask for a raise or change jobs every so often.

Of course, things are different when you're in debt from 3 studies or you're a single mom with 3 kids, hence why I said 75% of white collar workers.
>>
>>77276540
Get off your computer. Go outside.
>>
>>77276556
its just literal retards who think like that. They make poor financial decisions as well as any decision and cant understand why their life sucks. For this case you can literally bring water to the horse but the horse will run away from it.
>>
>>77276544
Not OP but I’ve looked into becoming a personal trainer and it sucks. 90% of your clients will be old or fat and you will make around $35k to $60k per year while having to maintain an active social media presence because you are constantly hustling for new clients. I’d rather play around on my phone in an office for triple the paycheck and workout in my free time.

>>77276572
You can earn decent money doing it, but if your crappy office job I high paid I guess you haven't got as much as an incentive. Old and fat doesn't bother me, you're not rounding up people to give oral sex to. To me that would be way more fun and way more interesting that sitting in a Chair all day every day
>>

at least employed people can have choices in what they want to do in life. unemployed people will always have to just survive with no vacation in sight
>>

Sounds like you never lived alone a single day in your life. Every adult who makes less than 40k a year always regret not taking school seriously.
>>
>>77276590
Living alone? What's that got to do with anything. Also not sure how we moved onto success, it's about job satisfaction, you can be unsuccessful or successful at either
>>
>>77276606
The bills you pay greatly affects how much you will actually hate your job, along with other factors, but your quality of life is dictated by your income. Its very obvious you are still living with your parents if you don't know what its like to decide if you would rather live in a dangerous area or not because of your income.

Mate you're the one who limited your earning potential, if that's your attitude it's a good thing you didn't choose that career. If you can't do well in any outside the box job then playing it safe as an office worker is for you. I'm not criticising you, you're right, you've got to do what you can make the most money in (unless the difference isn't substantial) because money is everything
>>
>>77276638

>>
>>77276646
You trying to compare a PT to an office worker who potentially makes anywhere between 75k to 250k makes it sound like you are a child is my point.
You obviously havent looked into what kind of career you want but let me give you this tip, white collar jobs are your best bet for high quality of life. Running your own business is also very good but only if its a good service business.
>>
>>77276650
monday thru friday i get up at 8, leave 830, arrive at office at 9, lunch break for an hour, leave at 4, get home 440, workout until about 6 at my home gym, do whatever I want until i sleep at 1130. Weekends I do whatever. I get 25 vacation days, I usually save them up for winter to spend 3 weeks off work with my family. The other week I pair them with holidays or company holidays to try to get longer consecutive time off. I buy whatever I want on a monthly basis since my income is at 120k atm. If i want to switch jobs I take about 1 month off and spend the next 3-6 months searching for a new job.
What can you do with no money as an unemployed?
>>
>>77276656
Not sure why you think up to 250k is normal for most people. If that's the case an office job is great, the amount of fun to be had in weekends and time off will definitely make the deal sweet. How much do you make?
You speak in a very sensationalist manor, maybe you should become a YouTuber if you do well you could make way more
>>
>>77276673
>maybe you should become a YouTuber
Terrible idea. I work in tech btw, least amount of schooling needed with highest amount of pay at the end. Dont believe the retards who did the bare minimum and cant land a job.
Trying to become a content creator is harder than trying to be a professional athlete in my opinion. You really do sound like a child at this point if that was your suggestion for career.
>>
>>77276662
I asked you what your day looks like, not your life in general. With those comprehension skills I doubt you've got a good position.
Even so that doesn't sound too interesting. Living life is subjective though, I've a feeling OP had a slightly different lifestyle in mind. But if that's living the life! And the best life. Can possibly get just keep on enjoying chief, that's good.

I'm 33 with only 50k in the bank and unfortunetly this past two years and going im doing some gig works on the weekeneds (filming) and some editing during the week and i make around 1.5k a month on average. The problem is that some gigs pay less but i still go just to fill my hours on the weekends because i have depression if i stay home too long. The problem tho with filming weddings is i get 400 euros for 14 hour filming but it takes me 2 days to recover after that.

Any tips? Should i just stop working and just become a neet and just play vidya all day? When it was off season earlier this year I would PPL 5-6 days a week and get huge and now i get to lift like x4 per week max my sleep has gone to shit because of the stress. The only positive stuff is that i meet a lot of women that can potentially be my gf if i lock in. Thoughts?
>>
>>77276883
at least he is an angry man with money. get a job loser
>>
>>77276893
im surprised you even have that much money doing gig work. every person I met that does any sort of gig work are all poor as shit. Although 50k can buy you some time to do nothing, it wont be enough time to actually try to do a career switch. Unless you can get someone to look after you for a while, I would suggest you do a career switch.
You will never be happy if you dont have money, that is the number 1 rule in life. I dont care what anyone says, you got no money and everything just becomes depressing.
>>
i used to think i was doing well earning like $50k at 27 years old in a median cost of living state, I've been doing this for 5 years and I've managed to save and invest to about $80k now, I also have a gf so life isn't bad, but I work an office job and I felt bored with life and kind of a "is this all there is" mindset settled in. I joined the elisha long's (the retardmaxxing guy) mens group to ask for advice

they all seem like chad guys but the advice was just insane, they all acted like stable jobs were gay and for cattle and a pysop and though any office guy should quit asap and spend all day doing whatever he felt like doing (not including drugs) and that's living, and money didn't matter, and to not worry about money or stability because that's feminine, and money will come but even if it doesn't, if you stay fit and social you'll always have a roof over your head and girls all over you. I thought of us "bum-maxxing" but they didn't like that comparious and said bums don't lift and aren't social

idk it all seemed very confusing but the advice was quite extraordinary, especially to a young guy who really wants to squeeze all the juice he can out of life. They said "fuck jobs and fuck money, do what you want, work on your own desires, your gf will love you even more, people will love you, worrying about the rat race is making you a woman and depressed"

what does /fit/ think about this? should i just quit everything and buy a surfboard and become a beach bum and hit on beach girls all day? incel chuds who hate everything pls do not respond

You can try but you are going to realize that boring actually means happy life. Its unfortunate you didnt start off poor stressed about everything to realize this.
With a stable life, its really up to you to decide what you want to do. You can AFFORD to live a life you actually want. If you broke, you can't do that.

>>
>>77276915
>im surprised you even have that much money doing gig work
It's mostly because i have been doing this for 10 years and I have got good networking and managed to average 600 euros per gig. It's not that horrible. I have even gotten a sports car and i'm around good people that can potentially give me good jobs aswell. But my equipment costed me 20k so far but i can go for 5 more years with it.

But you do think that i can start saying no to jobs with 50k in the bank? I have 300 euro rent and i ahve to buy my own groceries.
>>
>>77276956
You gotta calculate that out yourself big boy. You need to put some adult pants on and see if investing your time into something will return something better for you and calculate if you can afford to go on without a job. Its better if you can live with someone while you are working towards something better so you can save some money but you really need to put on your adult thinking cap on and plan this out yourself.
You can either believe in yourself based on what you know you are capable of or keep doing what you are doing because you know you are just bullshitting yourself.

all of that advice is built on the foundation of having an income that lets you do that. they're saying "fuck money, do what you want" because they either all already have jobs that pay enough, have enough savings, or have someone else bankrolling them to let them do that. there's merit to the argument that more money doesn't guarantee a happier life, but that's usually made from the perspective of someone who is already comfortable saying that chasing numbers to make bigger number won't fulfill you, which is true. but no one is truly living life if they're constantly worried where they're going to sleep or where their next meal is coming from, which is what can happen to you if you don't take your income seriously.

you can do that fuck-it lifestyle if you want, but at the end of the day, you have to be able to afford food and a place to live. 90% of people are just looking for a job that lets them accomplish that without making them want to kill themselves. if you can find a job that lets you do that, you're better off than the vast majority of people alive.

i'm not saying to just shut up and accept your job for what it is, but the "there has to be more to life" ennui you're feeling doesn't necessarily have to be fulfilled by your job. if you've got a stable job, stable income, with savings and interest in investments accruing, it sounds like you can afford to take trips to places you want to visit, or take up new hobbies you're interested in, or go to events or shows you want to see. in that way they're not wrong in saying that pursuing your own desires and goals is important. if you're not feeling accomplishment or fulfillment from your job, seek it elsewhere. your job doesn't have to be your everything. you're young. you've got time to try things.

God damn you pussy faggots have had easy lives if you think working 40 hours a week in an office is some intolerable tragedy.
It's a pretty good trade off for having clean water, food, shelter, electricity, healthcare, being able to travel, being able to retire, etc etc.
If you worked construction and saw how much effort actually goes into building society you wouldn't be crying. If clicking on a computer 8 hours leaves you too exhausted to do things after work you are weak and pathetic and it can probably be fixed by eating better and getting some pussy. Construction is full of incredibly stupid and inefficient retards who make big messes that require constant effort to go back over and correct, in addition to other retards that plan poorly and over promise on deadlines and generally have no clue what theyre doing. Building things is actually pretty straightforward and thus easy, you take it slow and one step at a time. I can tell you dont know what youre talking about with the dumb "buy a car in cash" advice. If you have cash sitting around, you always invest it and finance whatever you can dummy. Yes cars are depreciating assets but some depreciate WAY less than others

You
>have 5k in cash
>buy a junker outright with it
>at the end of 5 years, it breaks down or is otherwise worth nothing, because a $5k car is trash
>your 5k is now reduced to zero

Me
>have 5k in cash
>invest it
>finance a 30k tacoma at 5% interest
>at the end of 5 years, its paid off. I paid a total of 33k-ish
>I sell it for 27k
>my original 5k in the market is now 8k
>my 5k is now reduced to only 2k

I managed to retain 2k more than you and I got to drive a decent vehicle during that time too. There are a lot of things that work this way with finance. Similar to how unaware people are to only buying real estate in the fastest/most appreciating area of your state over the last decade. Yes it might also be the most expensive area, but it will have the highest ROI
