Alcohol inhibits protein synthesis. Getting smashed drunk after a workout reduces gains by 20%. So having a beer maybe reduces gains by like 1-5%. Therefore, it is completely unacceptable.

NO - I use drink as a reward at my home gym.
No wee dram until I've finished my workout and got a pump in every exercise.

if you want to see how much damage alcohol does, get a smartwatch with decent sleep tracking and compare your sleep when you've been drinking to when you've been sober, it was an eye-opener for me
