Why the fuck is starting a gym membership so expensive? I've finally decided to start going to a planet fitness regularly after work since its close by, thinking it'll only be 15 dollars (usd) a month, but theres also a 45 dollar startup AND annual fee? They say they startup is to get the membership running, but why do I need to pay over triple the original 15 just to get it started? And for the annual, they say it's to "keep the account updated", but I think that's complete bullshit. Do any of the gym you guys go to have these fees?

>>77284068So save up and buy a homegym. Buy once, cry once. Power rack, oly bar, and weights shouldn't set you back more than $1500, get yourself a bench and adjustable DBs for another $500 and you'll never need to pay to work out again, other than buying more pl8s down the road.
>>77284068kettlebells and adjustable weights
>>77284068You have to pay the goycattle fee for the privilege of exercising in the presence of jeets and foids
wow $45 sign up fee and $15 per month to completely change how my body looks and physically mog 99% of people i interact with? thats so expensive!
they regularly do a $1 down and $1 startup fee, so the only fee to start is the $45 annual feeall gyms are like this, they all charge you a startup fee and a yearly fee
Buy 2 dumbbells with weights to have them go up to 100 lbs plus a pull up bar. A bench if you feel fancy. There you go, you don’t need anything else>b-but legsShow me your Bulgarian split squats with two 100s before claiming barbel is required
>>77284068because most quit fast so they frontload cost to get bigger income. If you study at university check out uni gym. Mine was only $20 per semester. No fancy modern machines but everything you need + you train with people you can make friends with.
>>77284068Anon I’m sorry to say that this isn’t expensive
>>77284068Then they hit you with extra fees whenever they feel like it. And you can only sign up if you give them your banking information from which they can pull money from at any time and your bank can’t stop the transactions.
>>77284533This. If you use it, it's worth almost any price. The issue is most people don't use it. >>77284538I didn't realize that, I started homegym from day 1. How much do they usually charge for that stuff?>>77285017>because most quit fast so they frontload cost to get bigger income. Also this. Although I don't think universities charge to use the rec center, that's included in your tuition most places. You probably got scammed by the jeet at the desk pulling a fast one.
