They're right, long aerobic cardio like running is catabolic and unnatural. Humans are perfectly tailored for anaerobic workouts like lifting or sprinting

>>77284556Who are you replying to ? Your article literally says humans suck at physical prowess.
>>77284559(You) suck at cognitive prowess.>While humans have comparatively poor performance capabilities in terms of power and strength, we are unusually specialized endurance athletes, with surprisingly impressive aerobic performance capabilities. These capabilities are particularly remarkable for endurance running (ER), defined as running long-distances (>5 km) using aerobic metabolism. These capabilities, which have been reviewed in depth by Carrier (1984) and Bramble and Lieberman (2004), compare extremely well to other mammals, especially primates, in terms of several performance criteria such as speed and distance, especially in hot conditions.
>>77284566>Speed and distanceThanks for proving me correct that humans are only good sprinters by posting a study that only compares to primates out of the millions of species in the animal kingdom. Why to out yourself as the lesser male in this conversation
>>77284575If you read bramble and lieberman you would have realized that 1 they're not arguing about homo sapiens sapiens particularly 2 humans are overall good sprinters from the data they show 3 the praise for our endurance is only "relative" to expectation and our locomotion model. Im glad i got to correct wrong misinformation a lesser male than me is spewing. Feel free to ask any further questions
He's right, though. Extreme cardio literally burns away your muscle mass. Just look at long distance runners and road cyclists - skelly DYELs with twig arms.Cardio is important, though, that's why we have HIIT training.
>>77284590you failed at basic reading comprehension, again.Research shows (including your screenshots) that humans are evolved specifically for distance, not sprinting. In fact, compared to almost any other mammal, humans are notoriously terrible sprinters because we lack the raw power, fast twitch muscles and 4 limbs generating speed. Achilles tendons, arch structures, and the ability to sweat prove that human endurance isn't "relative" advantage over other cursorial animals. You claiming humans are naturally good sprinters proves your magical thinking, inability to draw correct conclusions and probably much more other flaws making you a lesser nigger.
>>77284621>Achilles tendons, arch structures,Spring like, supports explosive short bursts. Gets injured long distance. There's a reason why human sprint faster than ponies >>77284590 You = btfo, humiliated, destroyed. Go sprinting it will unironically make you less DYEL
>>77284459This thread kek, it's well established that hoomans are very good at *enduring* light jogging or brisk walking for long periods of time without overheating or fatigue, we suck at very high speed chases but most animals can't really run for very high speeds for long, allowing us to kill them by tiring them out, lions rest for 20 hours a day to conserve energy for a big hunt, cheetahs can only do 120 km/hr for a minute at most
>>77284643>which proves nothing>Running faster than animals short distance proves nothing here instead have my meme theoretical relative carbon dioxide output that "proves" humans run better than gazelles because we're x1.5 their bmi and lack their mechanical advantage or somethingLet me guess you're one of those pound for pound retards? You get F grades and a mental retardation diagnosis but it's okay because pound for pound you're the smartest guy in the mental institution since you're 110lbs soaking wet
>>77284644>at *enduring* light jogging or brisk walking for long periods of time without overheating or fatigue,This was never mentioned btw, it's undeniable that humans are good stalkers and walkers/carriersHowever we're abysmal at running unless it's sprinting
>>77284503>>77284575When I was 8y old, we had a rabbit. That rabbit sometimes dig a hole and ran into a field. Of course that rabbit was faster than me and I was not able to catch it straight away. But you know what? After hunting that thing for 500 yards, the rabbit would completly break down, have a puls of 300bpm and let me carry him, without giving a fight. We humans are endurance animals. That is how we used to hunt in groups.

>>77284670>There are many, many, many hunans that are good and great runners. And they all had to train for decades for that to even surpass a deer calf Running, swimming, throwing, walking are inherent and natural to humans on the other hand
>>77284673There are a handful of animals on the planet that are better long distance animals than humans, that doesn't mean we aren't meant for running. As you stated we developed tools and other strategies to aid along with running. But humans are meant to run. Full stop.
>>77284690>As you stated we developed tools and other strategies to aid along with runningLiterally no one said that. >>77284707>A spear helps you runIm talking to actual down syndromes
Mr. Mike can't run one single mile at a 10 minute per mile pace. He's not even in good enough shape to go catabolic from cardio....I don't understand this obsession with gainz maximization. If you're not competing in a sport you can do whatever the fuck you want and you'll be 85% to your lifetime natty limit in 2 years of training no matter how you train and you'll be 100% to your lifetime looksmaxxing natty limit as long as you're not overweight.
>Running marathons regularly is catabolic and bad for gains!>This means that any amount of cardio is terrible for you!>So what if I can't run for 30 minutes without dropping dead... It's catabolic!!!It's funny because actually moderate, regular cardio will massively improve your workout capacity, improving gains, improving recovery as well as making you healthier and more aesthetic. High volume cardio being catabolic is not a good excuse for you to avoid cardio altogether. You're just lazy. Cardio is hard, I get it, but worth it.

I'd run more often, but every time I do I'm reminded why I should quit smoking and then I feel bad about myself. That's why I only run twice a week, as damage control and punishment.
It's funny how the people who always say not to do cardio end up kicking the fucking bucket. This guy's time is near.
>>77284509I know hes hired full time staff to monitor and delete anything that mentions it in his comment sections.
>>77284459Ive said it many times before but the fitness community is the easiest community to scam. People will actually listen to someone who did drugs just to get "fit". Might as well listen to an alcoholic on how to be sober.
>>77284459It's harder to do strength and cardio but definitely possible. It just gets really difficult if you have responsibilities and want to also do both, it eats a lot of time. A lot of time into recovery, doing itself, nutrition windows etc. If you want to be a strength athlete and also do cardio on a serious level then it almost becomes a full time athlete job.
>>77284673For sprinting the absolute top isn't insanely much faster than a guy who has practiced it for a few months. The difference is like 10-25% depending on distance. With strength training the difference of the elite with casuals is typically over 100%.
>>77284503You mean anaerobic? Humans mog every other animal eith aerobic capacity, thats literally how we hunted
>>77285193There's no proof for any of your claims
>>77285471Seriously? Nta, but, this is common fucking knowledge amongst literally anyone with the most cursory knowledge of kinesiology.>Schumann et al., 2022 — Concurrent cardio + strength training did not compromise maximal strength or hypertrophy. >Thomas et al., 2022 — Short aerobic conditioning before resistance training improved muscle adaptations, linked to better capillarization. >Lundberg et al., 2013 — Aerobic exercise plus resistance training produced greater muscle hypertrophy than resistance training alone in the studied leg muscles. >Wilson et al., 2012 meta-analysis — Cycling alongside lifting was less likely to interfere with strength than running; modality matters. >Sabag et al., 2018 meta-analysis — HIIT + resistance training generally did not impair hypertrophy or upper-body strength. >Khalafi et al., 2022 — In middle-aged/older adults, concurrent training improved strength and fitness without being worse than resistance training alone for strength. >Chen et al., 2024 meta-analysis — Different endurance modes in concurrent training can improve lower-limb strength and hypertrophy, with effects depending on modality.I know you tards just say wrong shit all the time cause you think it's funny but it's getting really fucking old, even here.
>>77284503I'm late to this but you have it wrong. Humans have always been among the best distance runners on the planet (this information backed by le experts). We combined this with being the best at throwing on the planet to chuck spears at shit like mammoths from 20 yards out then just follow them as they slowly died 5 miles later.
>>77285496Useless correlation trash that only uses data on senile farts who never trained before i.e have nothing to lose
>>77285501To throw you need to sprint. To follow a dying animal you can just jog and stalk it. Your premise disproves itself
>>77285501You're partially right. Nothing about our anatomy says we're "meant" to run. Walk though, fuck yeah. The fastest running mile & fasting walking mile are only about a minute apart. But when have you ever heard of someone getting fucked joints from powerwalking or hiking. Kek

>>77285525>None of your "experts" train>>77285525>All of "sport science" is centered around taking small statistical deviations and manipulating them verbally to show a pointThanks for proving that you know fuck all about kinesiology. Most of our experts are former college & pro athletes. Most studies on exercise science use college atheletes, they're the most convenient subjects. You're literally just making shit up. I'm not saying there aren't studies with old people or that what you're alleging never happens, but it's the minority and you're a fucking dipshit that's just as whacked in the head as vaxxies. >>77285525>course they think 0.001kg muscle gain with -+0.002 margin of error while lifting and doing heavy cardio is something to clapThat's because you're wrong and a lot of those studies use college athletes looking for any little gain possible.
>>77285535>Most of our experts are former college & pro athletes.Wrong they're all turbo-dyels. Same for dietists, all anorexic or turbo-fats. That's why we have a study every week about volume or hit saying radically different things, nothing you posted can be replicated even with all the chaotic non-control It's even funnier that most of you've posted is either about jogging and brisk cardio and in one case about anaerobic training (hiit). Aka you've proved nothing. You probably didnt read them either just copied a list chatgpt clanked for you
>>77284459>kike israetellmao, someone post the video of that bloated midget running
>>77285539A college athlete is still way below their peak and still in their developmental phase, your premise is yet again wrong
>>77284459>cardio kills gainzFinally Kike is saying something that makes sense.
Ok but how much is too much? Is a mile every other day crazy?
>>77284459Have you ever seen that guy run? I wouldn't trust him for fitness advice
I wish more people just tried it for themselves rather than just always argue this topic. These posts are always dominated by people who lift and don't run or people who don't run and don't lift. Or people who think jogging 30 min 3 times a week is cardio trained (do you think squatting 3x5 with 90lbs is strength trained? Because that's the equivalent). For me, I know running improvements come at the direct cost of strength because I've done them in parallel for 9 years now. Some kind of training conflicts more than others. But if you want to break running plateaus, expect to see the same kind of strength loss you see when you do a large cut.
>>77285667Yeah the body literally catabolizes to make room for adaptation. Running marathons at 200lbs is miserable, our god-given bodies have systems in place to where if you want to be efficient it will indeed shred weight to make you better at running given you eat less
>>77285675It's bewildering to me.You see the adaptations of strong people, and everybody agrees of you strength train you will experience adaptations that are similar. But if you show the average fitcel the adaptations of a runner they will be in complete utter denial that running training will provoke physical adaptions
Imagine being a fitness influencer* and having to constantly come up with more nonsense drivel to peddle desperately for your precious adbuxxIn this case, recycling endless debates like CARDIO KILLS GAINS and nauseumTruly the lowest molluscs on the sinking hull of humanity's once-proud vessel*grifter
I think running up to 2 or 3 10ks a week is perfectly fine and a nice combo with lifting 4 maybe 5 days a week. Anything significantly longer than 10k like approaching a half marathon takes way too much time investment both to work up to that distance and to actually run it. Even if running 15k or more didn't risk lifting gains, running for an hour straight or longer is just fucking annoying.
>>77285667I do both. I do slow cardio sessions after lifting because you have to pack it in somewhere in your week. Having multiple sessions of hard cardio + hard lifting in a week limits how hard you can go on both, so you limit your top end on both. You literally can't do hard lifting immediately after hard cardio and you can only do certain kinds of hard cardio after hard lifting so the literature on attenuation makes sense - just maybe not for exactly the reasons everybody thinks. There's no magic. If you want to specialize, specialize. If you want to be good at everything, you're going to have to roid to be able to complete all your workouts. If you want to be a complete fucking retard like Mike call your lifting + 5 minutes on the stepper after lifting as cardio and fail to run even one singular slow mile while the world laughs.
>>77284459Scientician mike has been clipping the edges of his plates to make himself seem stronger. A bizarre obsession with inflating numbers.
>>77286018This would make a hilarious thread actually if it could be done in old English
>>77284459They want you to become a 35 BMI roid monster so you die at 45 after your economic utility has been exhausted
>>77284459Long distance runners look like shit. Nobody said you cant practice sprinting. Just that running for hours is fucking retarded and destroys your body/gains.
There is only one tribe of Africa retards who "run animals to exhaustion", and its a stupid meme. Every human hunter in history and existence was an ambush hunter. Endurance describes the ability to stalk prey for hours, not chase it for hours. The existence of one shitty worthless no progress mud hut clan of losers doesnt invalidate the rest of human history.
>>77285667the point isn't training for a run meet or race thoughthe point is you SHOULD be doing moderate cardio alongside lifting if you're not competing. You can focus on whatever you want, but you shouldn't neglect your cardio completely
>>77284459I have heard this shit for twenty years and its why we have fat powersharters and lazy gym goers that are bulky and unfit.
>>77284459Only women should run
the bugez is running a mile a day now
>>77285675>>77285692This only applies to long distance endurance running. You can get the majority of cardio benefits without taking it that far. The cardio work you have to do to get the physical adaptions is short, 15-30 minutes of intense cardio. The longer you go the more it becomes purely energy systems training, that's when you start eating gains.
What a fucking dishonest piece of shit, fuck this guy. I hate clickbait youtube so much. You're only gonna "kill gains" if you run a marathon every day and burn 20,000 calories or whatever. So fucking stupid. Cardio is essential for heart health, especially if you are muscular.
The only thing humans mog every animal on earth at is throwing. But i never see anyone with a javelin at the stadium.
>>77284478>They're right, long aerobic cardio like running is catabolic and unnatural.Humans evolved to hunt game by following them until they were exhausted
>>77288086Can we stop it with this dumbass bullshit. Our species are the undisputed rulers of the animal kingdom. We have to artficially curb human behaviors else we would wipe out everything that doesn't serve us. These species comparisons are fucking stupid. We're so awesome the only thing that legitimately threatens our species, is us. Y'all sound like them faggot ass chinks emulating animals for fighting that always get BTFO by pretty much anything.
>>77288091You dont understand the point i made. I agree with everything you wrote. I was dunking on mongs going akchshully we wue persistence huntaars
>>77288090Yeah but the idea we did this by running is stupid. We would sneak up on it, inflict as much damage as possible, then track it and fucking walk.>>77284478It's more nuanced and circumstantial than that. LISS isn't going to catabolize shit unless you're at very low body fat. They weren't running marathon distances, not even half that.
>>77288090>>77288100Dear Amerimutts: Persistence hunting always was and still is a myth.
