You think hitting your protein goals is difficult.Try getting enough calories without eating over 60g of protein or eating ultra processed junk. It's damn near impossible.Kidney disease fucking sucks.I'm supposed to maintain muscle mass so I don't waste away in later stages, but also I can't eat too much protein.
>>7728454319 bananas = 1995 calories, 57 grams of protein
>>77284543You just meter out your protein intake better so at no time is there an over abundance of aminos in the blood stream. Protein used in myoprotein synthesis does not break down to urea and won't damage the kidneys. So don't consume stuff like whey where it's rapidly absorbed and metabolized.
>>77284581Read more comprehensively
>>77284588I can probably tolerate more protein intake than the guidelines since I work out, and I'm sure the guidelines are designed around normies who never exercise, but even when protein is used to repair/build muscle it still strains the kidneys.
>>77284651Do you somehow think if you workout that that excess protein bypasses your kidneys or something
>>77284651That's because on every pass through the liver as blood loops through the body it's amino content is roughly halved by the liver itself. You mitigate this with more slowly absorbed forms like casine to try to not outpace the uptake in myoprotein synthesis by much. (in a healthy person this isn't an issue but when efficiency is manditory this is a better plan)I don't know how splits affect total myoprotein synthesis demands vs fullbodies but the effect is localized so it should be less and that might help some in making something with restricted protein intake.
>>77284665It still strains the kidneys, it's just not immediately turned into ureaInstead of obsessing over it what I've ended up doing is restricting myself to only one major protein source per day, and not every day. So if I have salmon or chicken for lunch, I will not eat eggs for breakfast and so on. It's easier to manage this way. There's still going to be some protein intake elsewhere but not major.
