>literally one of the most nutrient dense food in the world
>insane protein, insane vitamins, insane everything
>cheap and even actually tastes good compared to chicken breast and rice
>/fit/fags still think its slop and not eat it
Why? You would assume fitbros to gulp down tofu dishes and drink unsweetened onions milk like its water but onions rarely appears in fitness discussions.
>>
>>77285037
cause /fit/ is full of retards that like to parrot the phytoestrogen argument even though they probably drink beer which is full of it
>>
>>77285075
This

It's quite good, but of course it is not better than pure muscle meat, of course grown and produced by the very retard that tell you that it's shit
>>
I like tofu but it's pretty bland. Deep fry it if you're eating it alone or cook it with meat/animal fats. It goes great with ground pork.
>>
>>77285075
This. They can't stop seething about sōy while injecting their balls with synthetic tranny juices. They're afraid of a legume, but are happy to eat it in beef form. They have an influencer sold idea of manliness and tradition that never existed

Real muscle is in turn worse than dairy

>Real muscle is in turn worse than dairy
How come anon? I would like to know more about that
>>
>he doesn't know that 30% of men metabolize onions into equol which turns them into a female

Alrighty, then ... picture this if you will.
10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes,
in my "need to know" pose, just outside of Area 51
Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thingy
when a flaming stealth banana split the sky
like one would hope but never really expect
to see in a place like this.
Cutting right angle donuts on a dime
and stopping right at my Birkenstocks,
and me yelping...
Holy fucking shit!
Then the X-Files being,
Looking like some kind of blue-green Jackie Chan
with Isabella Rossellini lips, and breath that reeked of
vanilla Chig Champa
Did a slow-mo Matrix descent
Outta the butt end of the banana vessel
And hovered above my bug-eyes, my gaping jaw,
and my sweaty L. Ron Hubbard upper lip,
and all I could think was:
"I hope Uncle Martin here doesn't notice
that I pissed my fuckin' pants."
So light in his way,
Like an apparition, that
He had me crying out,
"Fuck me
It's gotta be
the Deadhead Chemistry
The blotter got right on top of me
Got me seein' E-motherfuckin'-T!"

you know, this post made me check my local grocery online store for prices thinking it would at least be cheap, and after checking the macros i found out its just omega garbage if you care at all about protein intake.

>Tofu - 12 to 19g of protein
>Chicken - 31g
>Very similar price

You know what, ill buy 200g to see if I like it but its not lookin good chief. I don't think its a mystery as to why /fit/ isn't a fan.
>>
>>77285400
~6€/kg for sōy mince here with 50+% of protons. Take out the lesser bioavailability and it's still quite cheap.
>>
>>77285037
Tofu is great when you pair it with meat or scramble it with eggs, not a big fan of it on its own
>>
>>77285037
>most nutrient dense
Your picture literally shows how nutritionally poor it is. Unironically comparable with bread

>Im such a mentally ill contrarian i need to make up boogeymen and false scenarios in my mind to rationalize my pathetic attempts at being a special snowflake
This shit is so weird

10% DV in multiple nutrients for 100 calories is very nutritious. Are you retarded or just a failure at 3rd grade math?
>>
>>77285859
Multiple ??? There's two there aside from fat. And one of them is in it's shittiest malabsorbed form, for calcium it's less severe but non-heme iron literally just gets pissed. You'll have to eat beyond 1000 "calories" (half a kg) to get anything out of it. Oh yeah and you get phytates on the side to block the absorption of the little trash you get.
Bonne appetit faggot yeah that's very nutritious
>>
>>77285400
>>77285865
>but non-heme iron literally just gets pissed
not him but just eat a kiwi or an orange
>>
Now i realize that most of the calcium is literally just coagulants lmao. Very nutritious brah shitty macros and even shittier micros with poor bioavailability of the two micros it has.
But yeah keep eating it cuz it's le heckin esoteric lifting secret you've got it all figured out you and your skinnyfat middle aged body

>4% increase in absorption
Good now you'll be absorbing 1.85mg instead of 1.8mg because you're too much of a daisy to just eat some meat or offal
>>
>>77285875
What copypasta ? Do you know what that word means ? Are you genuinely going to spend money eating that gook trash because of your imaginary buttbuddy hahahahahzhahha
>>
>>77285037
I'm not a fan of tofu's taste/texture, but I've noticed most people cook it in savory ways. I wonder if it's better in sweet dishes/desserts?
>>
>>77285891
Some people do that with the super soft varieties but I don't know what you'd do for the hard stuff
>>
>>77285865
>There's two there aside from fat
Yeah thats what multiple means
>>

Onions is a very interesting ingredient. But I think academics downplay the phytoestrogen risk specifically because they associate the feminisation narrative with places like here. It’s actually pretty poorly understood, and when you dig into publications denouncing the feminising/endocrine disrupting effects of onions, they simply don’t have the strength of evidence backing them that the confidence suggests.

Most of the “conclusive” meta-analyses are looking at things like circulating hormones, which, if there was an effect would be sufficient to demonstrate it, but the absence does not demonstrate the absence of feminising effects. SHBG is also relevant, DHT is relevant, qualitative feminisation is relevant. Not to mention what these studies deem a high intake is just relevant to typical western intakes, which are already very low, and not relevant to vegans and bodybuilders using it as a dominant protein source. Once you start trying to hit 2 g protein per kg body mass from onions, you start to get into the territory of the intakes you see in well known case studies of clear feminisation from onions intake that ceases upon discontinuation.

Work on the side of actual dose response relationships has started and is complicating the picture from the earlier “certainty”. But until then I’m being cautious about my intake and trying to stay under ~100g of tempeh/per day (or equivalent).

It’s a shame though because it is really the best vegan protein source, short of precision fermented whey, or potato protein isolates. And certainly the most useful from a culinary standpoint.
>>
>>77285891
some good bakeries will use it in the cream/ganache substitutes for their vegan items. but that’s typically blended silken tofu
>>
>>77287051
your post gave me gyno
>>
Not complete protein. So all of that protein is pretty much useless. It's like saying look how much water and cement you have. Yea, but there is no sand at all, so it's all useless for building a house...
Also full of glyphosate and estrogen.
