>wahh why don't my gay little exercises give me the musculature of a peak test protector who carries heavy shit everywhere every day
>>77286893>genetics have left the chat
Fat guys train their calves every waking hour. You cant compete with fat guy calves
Not everything is a meritocracy. It's not about being "peak T" or "protector" (what does that even mean? is it a type of exercise?) or carrying things around. It's genetic luck. You could naturally have 1000+ ng/dL testosterone. You could ruck until you shit yourself. You could do calf raises to failure multiple times per week. But ultimately, you'll still end up seeing only modest calf size gains because that muscle's size is mostly genetic.
>>77286918You can. Just put a shit ton of weight into a backpack and never take it off.
Aren’t calves somewhat genetic?
>>77286893People who complain that their calves aren't growing do their "training" by loading the bar and hopping up and down like rabbits.
>>77287069Or maybe just climb stairs everyday, will strengthen your heart as well as build your calves and hips
>>77286893I've trained calves at least 2x every week, 2 exercises each time. Calves are tough to get big. You need volume. I do 5x15 standing Calf Raises and 4x20 on the leg press.
>>77286893>not doing hill sprints or stairs walks to build calvesNGMI
>>77287122This looks so disgusting, why would someone want this? The op's bottom pic is much more aesthetic
>>77286918>Fat guys train their calves every waking hour. You cant compete with fat guy calvesYou you agree volume>anything else for hypertrophy?
>>77287176You could wear a weighted vest all day
>>77287170OPs bottom pic looks like this under all that fat.
>>77287170>nooo you cant just have your musculature showing under your skin, you need 30% body fat to be A E S T H E T I Cfatty detected
>>77287186I know. And it looks better
>>77287191
>>77287190Yes, bodybuilders looks repulsive. That's why chicks dig muscular dudes with dad bod
>>77287204

>>77286893>>77286914i have literally never trained calves in my entire life yet i calfmog most of the gymbros spamming calf raises>inb4 fatassi was underweight my whole life, started gaining weight a few years ago and im at 80kg/180cm nowits mostly genetics, though i have always been walking a lot so i guess that helped
>>77286893muay thai guys have huge calves. Im guessing its from all the running, jump roping, and generally always being on their toes
>>77287310Its also the 20 minutes or so a day they spend just kicking. Lifters typically won't do their bodyweight calf raises on one leg for 20 minutes once a week.
I really hate the way calves look when super cut.
>>77287299Show calves. Everybody says they mog calves but never show proof.
>>77287360Looks sickly
>>77286918I'm fat and walk a lot at my job yet mine are small as fuck
>>77286918Do you need to be fat or just heavy? I'm 220 not fat and walk a lot and it hasn't given me calves
>>77287431Try hiking
Being reasonably heavy (muscle) for your size and then going on 14+ mile treks, across variable terrain, in BAREFOOT shoes. That's the ticket. My calves have blown up since going barefoot.I also run in fairly low stack height, zero drop altra running shoes, which is a real calf workout on a 10k run.If you do try it, I'd advise easing into barefoot stuff with shorter walks to build up strength. If you jump straight into long treks you can fuck yourself up.
Why does everyone ITT treat calf muscles like they're a different kind of muscle? Eat big, lift big, get big results. You don't have to do weird exercises, obscene amounts of cardio or have amazing genetics. Just blast your calves until they scream. Anything else is frivolous. It's a muscle.
>>77286914you realize that this chimpanzee moves around for most of its life but humans are mostly sedentary? Not only that but the movements they do throughout each day are basically bodyweight fitness, while you walk to you car, walk to the freezer and buy your 2000kcal ice cream, drive home, walk to your couch and eat that ice cream like the fat slob you are.
>>77287481Anon, I think you might be tarded
Zero drop shoes
>>77287122Has anyone ever asked you if they could feel your calves? If so, what was your answer and please be in London
>>77287470>Why does everyone ITT treat calf muscles like they're a different kind of muscle?because its the hardest muscle to grow out of any muscle in your body you absolute dyel.
>>77287577Mine are pretty big and like I said, all I do is blast them 2x/week. Maybe it's just genetics, or maybe good form, not sure. But I'm not special.
>>77286918I don’t want to compete with fat guy calves, they have fucked up feet and knees.
>>77287584post calves
>>77287685I'm>>77287122
>>77287698you got defined calves but those arent the ones people are after. look at muay thai fighters
>>77287705I'm not getting a lot of image results for muay Thai fighter calves. What's the difference?
>>77287705Those are exactly what I'm after
>>77287710you sounds pretty jealous
>>77286918I was fat my whole life until a few years ago, they were at best average even after all that, big thighs though
>>77287710god damn ur a retard, here is a pic.
>>77287733Yea that's a shin. Any Calf pics?
>>77287713Why do you need muai thai fighters?
>>77287749>i cant see his calves here anonnigga you had to flex just to see your calves. they would be invisible if we saw your shins, nobody cares about your ugly deformed calves
>>77287759Oh no, my feelings! I am defeated ;_;
>>77287749>trying this hard
>>77287762what are you in middle school? you're clearly very salty nobody likes your calves after all that work on them. not a single person even asked for your advice because nobody likes them.
>>77286893>Top sits all day >Bottom walks 10000+ steps a day
>>77286893>42 years old>Cold Warwas this image made 15 years ago?
>>77287122I see a lot of mirin and a lot of hate but I don't see anyone else posting their calves so technically you have the best calves on the board rn
>>77287867this thread is about how to get calves. obviously nobody wants his
Autist here. R8 my calves I don't train them at all but I do walk on my toes constantly and have since I was a kid.
>>77287886Thick. Solid. Very nice. 7/10.
6'2" 17" circumference did I make it?
>>77288047
>>77287886Gross,,, male feet
>>77286893A 42 year old was 6 years old when the cold war ended
Is it worth splurging for a bougie calf block?
>>77288060This isn't the board for your fetish bro
>>77288223Anything that gives you height is sufficient. I just use a couple 50lb bumper plates or like your pic, the back feet of an incline bench
>>77286893>peak test protector>42 year old millennial
>>77287481That would explain the big calves then
fat and dyels with large calves just have extra fat on the calves and drainage issues from diabetes so its fluid that produces swelling, coupled with bad blood circulation so blood swells the calf further. So its complete bs
>>77286893Dads have larger calves from walking while carrying their kid. Over years it adds up. Also fatter on average
>>77288047Only if your arms are also 17"
>>77288603almost 18"
>>77288601that makes no sense, kids weigh nothing
>>77288601Dad here. Most other dads I know gave up carrying their kids as soon as possible. I was the night dawg at preschool pickup because one time I picked both mine up at once - that was maybe 70lbs at the time.
>>77288609ahahahahahah you retard baka gaijin. A 3 year old is like 15kg AND moves constantly on your arms. They are awkwardly shaped also.
>>77288630you are weak, 40kg feels like a feather to me. I curl more than 20 kg like 100 times a week in each arm
the muscles are mostly used to stabalize the foot via the ankle so you cant really isolate itwalk on sandy beaches for big calves
>>77287122wtf is my problem? I do 3x50 calf raises and I dont feel a fucking thing (body weight only tho).Cant do one legged ones, too hard.
>>77287481So? that doesn't give you the muacle and textile strenght to rip apart wood and flesh with ease.
>>77286893You get calves by walking unless you don't get calves in which case you don't get them
>>77288630Its still additional load, it’s not like you’re doing 12 reps, you’re doing thousands. It adds up.
>>77288630brb buying 15kg kid-shaped weights
>>77288639Depends how much you weigh. If you do 1000 bodyweight calf raises at 130lbs, you're not getting as good a workout as you would if you weighed 200lbs. There's some powerlifter I once saw who said he does standing calf raises in between sets and gets over 1000 each time but he was like 400lbs so it was meaningful work.
>>77289128Any reps past 15 doesn’t build muscle
>>77289144I had no idea. That's crazy how smart your muscles are that they can actually count and send signals to the brain to stop growing. Wow the human body is amazing thanks!
>>77287453I was a fat fuck for a decade before, but switching to barefoot did wonders for my feet, knees and hips.Just ordered myself some sandals for hikes this summer.
>>77289144nta but the point, retard, is that if you can do more than 15 reps you're not lifting enough weight to build muscle. You're just into endurance at that point.
>>77289171>sandals for hikesthe trails where you live must be pristine, if I used sandals on a hike my feet would get mangled
>>77287411This, probably just fat. Calf truly mog when you can see the split, if you cant and they don't they just are fat.
>>77287867>>77287122Nasty. Here's some actually impressive calves for you.
>>77290079Lol I bet they look great under all that fat
>>77290079>no separation >more than 20% bodyfat (not a single vein to be seen)>not even flexed, or flexed but too fat to tellBrother, that's pathetic. 5/10
>>77290130>>77290117Always the little guys
>>77290293I have no bodyfat and 17" calves brother. Just dont be fat?
>just skate (on ice/roads dnc)literally the solution
>>77287176>>Fat guys train their calves every waking hour. You cant compete with fat guy calves>You you agree volume>anything else for hypertrophy?you dont have to do this
To hell with calves, who anterior tibialis mogs?!My calves measure ~19" bee tee dubs, it's genetic, my dad has fuck huge calves and he does no exercise and isn't fat.
>>77290312Well my dad works at Nintendo so
>>77287055isn't everything somewhat genetic?>>77286893can't beat out sheer volume, ever.when every step is more than your lmao 1 rep max deadlift, you're going to have big calves.
>>77290308You don't have any calves which is why you haven't posted them
>>77287122It's like a woman's legs except disgustingly veiny and chewed up, crazy
>>77290318>isn't everything somewhat genetic? Not literally everything; but *most* traits and diseases have various genetic susceptibility/risk factors with additional environmental influence. Calf size falls into that category where some genetic muscle diseases give you tiny or enormous calves, but a lot of variability is just training/diet.You'd think even hair color is str8 genezix? Nope. Lots of people change hair colors as chemotherapy side effects, also has to do with dietary metal intakes; but it's heavily genetically influenced in its original color. Stuff like Duchenne muscular dystrophy is really str8 genetics and silicosis is really str8 environmental, but the majority of traits and diseases are some mix of both.
>>77287122How much do you run? I have done 3 plate benches and squats but I just spam volume at 225 squat and a 250 deadlift. I've been focusing on running and am not sure to increase these exercises given what my interest in rooning. Thank you for reading my blog post.
>>77288601>>77288609>>77288630>>77288632I remember a professor I had who was built like Brock Samson. He said he was exhausted walking out of Disneyland carrying his five and six year old kids.

>>77290688Very little. I used to do 5k every day but I'm doing a lot less this past year. I hike a lot, so uphill and downhill low intensity steady state cardio
Our /goat/ Lyle McDonald made a great a video on training calves y’all should watch ithttps://youtu.be/mPgM3Ba0HCE?si=tsTYTfoky9lt8RSxTLDR: most importantly DONT BOUNCE, otherwise just train them like other muscles high intensity close to failure or to failure
>>77286918No it's genetict. Genetically superior
>>77286893The "heavy shit" he carries is his own gut. Fatties tend to have huge calves.
Generally speaking, leg gains are the hardest to lose in my experience.
