Why are smith machines popular again all of a sudden?
They aren't but I wish they were. More dyels on smith machines means less people in power racks and benches

I use them to RDL safely because visiting snapcity is not worth it. I use them for hip thrust because the initial load up movement on the booty builder machine hurts too much.

I used to use it to do barbell calf raises because as you know you can lift a shitload with calves and I wasn't risking failing double my weight on the free squat rack.It feels like shit sort of exercise to me, if I want to use less weight I just use dumbells with deeper stretches at the bottom.
