Why are smith machines popular again all of a sudden?
>>
They aren't but I wish they were.
More dyels on smith machines means less people in power racks and benches
>>
I shit you not, I've never seen a dyel in a smith machine (exception being thots doing meme exercises).
>>
>>77288849
Same here I only ever see advanced solo lifters using them to go to failure over and over again safely.
>>
>>77288849
I constantly see dyels doing smith bench in my gym. No other exercises though
>>
I don't get why people enjoy em. They feel like absolute shit for me.

>>77288849
>>77288860
DYEL's at my gym use them all the time.
>>
>>77288865
The locking/unlocking hand rotation feels extremely unnatural and heavy on wrists for me and messes the grip.
With a normal barbell you just keep the same grip position through the entire exercise
>>
>>77288830
because people stopped listening to memes and brotalk and being more practical with them

there are a shit ton of workouts you can do with them, especially for glutes and hamstring
>>
Eddie Halls says you should never squat in a smith machine
>>
>>77288976
never bench too since bench moves in an arc
>>
>>77288976
>>77289004
eddie hall is an enhanced big fat faggot
>>
>>77288830
You didn't lift the weight.
>>
>>77289027
At least he's not faggy enough to use a smith machine
>>
>>77288830
I don't know. I don't like them. They feel unnatural and strange to use
>>
>>77288830
The WSM with the best log lift in history loves smith machine presses so
>>
>>77288958
Based, I love smith machine rodiddlies
>>
>>77288976
Eddie hall looks like shit
>>
>>77289142
He isn't a bodybuilder so he shouldn't looks good.
He's a STRONG man
>>
>>77288830
Because more women are going to the gym and they NEED to do 8 sets of hip thrust for 12 reps.
>>
>>77289153
Exactly why I'll ignore his advice

Too easy bro. Still a juiced fat faggot.
>>
>>77289197
you sound like a catty woman
>>
>>77288830
Science niggers told everyone these would fuck up your joints because the bar can't follow a natural path. But now everyone knows that's bullshit and PTs aren't scaring the normies away from them anymore.
>>
>>77289197
how does he rack and unrack this thing without touching the bar?
>>
>>77289223
>But now everyone knows that's bullshit
So it does follow the natural path
>>
I use them to RDL safely because visiting snapcity is not worth it. I use them for hip thrust because the initial load up movement on the booty builder machine hurts too much.

Always nice to see a fellow rdl and booty builder enthusiast. Godspeed anon and remember to stop before there’s too much cake sitting on the counter.
>>77289218
You know what man when you say things like you hurt my feelings.
>>
>>77289257
I do rdl with 195kg and never had a problem with safety, just don't go to failure as you don't need to
>>
I used to use it to do barbell calf raises because as you know you can lift a shitload with calves and I wasn't risking failing double my weight on the free squat rack.
It feels like shit sort of exercise to me, if I want to use less weight I just use dumbells with deeper stretches at the bottom.
>>
>>77289577
I'm 5'3 140 so obviously pretty much anything is risky with my build. I just don't feel like not using the smith machine. It is super convenient.
>>77289289
Thank you anon I will
>>
>>77288976
He is correct
>>
>>77290088
Reasonings?
>>
>>77288976
the technique smith machine squats is not the same as normal squats

not to mention no one is doing traditional barbell workouts on smith machines, but variations like weighted step ups, bulgarian split squats, 1-arm sideways ohp, etc
