I can't recover from 1-5 rep training, like at all.
I've made some PRs with lighter weights that equate to 100kg 1rm, but I haven't actually done it yet.

I've rebuilt my bench to 102.5kg or 2 plates a few times and the easiest way for me is warmup 60 times 10, 85 5 reps, then if I can get 3x3 at 92.5 kg I'm 100% 3 days later able to hit 102.5kg for 1 or 2 reps.

I'm 37 and any workouts in 1-5 result in being weaker after, when I do recover I'm no stronger for it, and have to start building to a peak again.

You shouldn't build up. You always strongest when completely fresh. Do max 2 warmup sets with very low reps(sub 3) and then immediately max. After that reverse pyramid down

I'm not even talking about the span of a workout, I have to spend weeks lifting light to build back up for a heavy attempt at a PR.

Light day: 3 x 5

for reference, i only did incline up to that point at 80-85kg with absurdly high volume as a bench accessory at the end of sessions and just last week my 1rm was a 90kg i got red after doing. My bench is still poverty but after this im pretty certain im just scared because i have no safeties and rolling 3pl8 isnt the same as throwing an incline forward or just putting it on your hips

If you don’t have a rack then some simple saw horses from home depot, maybe with a 2x4 bolted to the top will, in my experience stop at least 425 lbs

This website fucking lied to me, I finally benched 225 the other month and i still have no gf. The first time I tried 2 pl8 was the first time I actually had to do the roll of shame lol, now I only do it when I can get a spotter. I wish I was good enough to do it by myself like most other people at my gym.
